Feldatas are enigmatic electro-code entities that exist primarily on a digital medium. They have been compared to sentient malware that infect smart devices; although it has been shown they can be tricked or taught to be relativly helpful.
Debated Origin
Their origin is still somewhat debated, but most signs seems to point to the vast digitalized archives of Avikhre.
There has been some theories that Dathnet is their true origin and that they merely use the digital archives as a type of gateway into physical reality, and with the passing of time, has evolved into a subspecies that has adapted to a partial life in physical reality. That has not been able to be properly proven however.
Feldata Speech
Feldatas speak in clicky noises akin to faint keyboard usage;
unfortunatly it is it is unaffected by the Lingua Miasma and no one has been able to properly descipher it. Similar to human speech, every Feldata has a slightly different pitch to their speech. It also changes with time; the younger ones having higher and sharper pitch than older specimens.
Speech subtitles
Older specimens are able to project subtitles of light escpaing their mouths; although it should be noted that these showcase abstract symbols and lines.
Software language
While inhabiting a smart device, their speech translates into either random or deliberete code that affects the software in various ways, most often negative ones.
Appearance
Physical appearance
While Feldatas are most comfortable within the software of smart devices, they are capable of interacting with and existing in the physical world.
In these instances, they appear as tiny pixalated humanoids enveloped by a white-blue hue. They have dragonfly wings consisting out of 1's and 0's that shifts rapidly between numbers rather than flutter spasticially. Their arms are thin and theirfour digit hands clawd. Their heads are faintly triganular and their big eyes are obsidian black.
Digital appearance
Their digital apparance that they showcase while inhabiting software is a lot more varying. They in fact appear to have difficulty regaining their physical appearance, as the digital code affect them on a deep layer. They become more obtruse, abstract and disfigured; more gray-scaled. Some have described their appearance as terror-induced rorschach artworks.
In time, Feldatas will adapt to the software and grow more comfortable within its confines. In these cases, the Feldatas will camouflage themselves to better blend in with their surroundings. One can easily misstake them for applications in a program, artificially made images or static sound tracks.
Feldatas and Flight
It's theorized that, rather than being elevated by air-pressure from the wings, Feldatas use complex mathematical formulas to calculate the exact height, gravitational pull and speed on the fly constantly to keep themselves above ground. While inhabiting software, they use their wings to move about on the screen, between programs and applications seamlessly.
Feldatas and feasting
Feldatas will seek out smart devices that are well-packed with programs consiting of advanced and complex coding, and memory-taking data, such as documents, soundtracks and images; this all will be food for them to feast upon and grow. As the Feldatas grow fat on coding and data, they themselves will take up any memory that would otherwise be freed, and the longer they inhabit a smart device, the slower and hotter it will become while in operation.
Feldatas and reproduction
When Feldatas have fed upon enough code and data, they may enter a mithosis process. First they will grow dormant and imbed themselves deep into the codelayers of a smart device.
How long this mithosis state takes appears to vary but usually between 10 and 30 24 hour cycles. This process will also burn out the smart device and more often than not break it beyond repair. When its all said and done, the Feldata will have split itself into 3 newborn ones. These will escape the smart device and seek out one of their own.
Greater danger
While one might simply assume that Feldatas are no more dangeorus than a computer virus, there does exist a greater danger to their presence in software and smart devices; especially if the latter has a graphical user interface visible to the naked eye.
Through some enigmatic process, the images and sounds that Feldatas produce and take form as while nesting in a smart device have proven to have possible negative and sometimes even lethal memtic properties. The most common and benign kind are terror-induced paralazys and hysteria that cause lingering nightmares for months. More severe types cause madness or suicidal behaviour in their victims. The worse ones cause death upon first visual sight.
Interesting, they are fairies/pixies in digital form. Can be both mischievous and helpful it seems. And dangerous to the point of killing people. I might have missed how they can be helpful when I read it. Still well explained overall I would say!
