Veldens

Veldens is the name given to the inhabitants of the city of Velden in the Kingdom of Gwandrin.
Veldens live very differently than the citizens in Skelna. While the residents of Skelna and other cities in Gwandrin are typically distrustful of the weird and unknown due to their often sheltered and cushy lifestyles, the citizens of Velden grew up learning to embrace the stranger aspects of life due to their geographical closeness to the Exiles' Bridge.

Shared customary codes and values

Veldens hold the belief that being a good person does not necessarily mean following the law. Due to its distance from Gwandrin's capital city, Velden has far less oversight from law enforcement groups like the Sanctioners, and so Veldens have much more relaxed views about things like the Laws of Magical Use than other groups in Gwandrin. Veldens believe that as long as what you're doing isn't harming others then it's fair game: "mind your own business and don't make your business my business", essentially.

Common Etiquette rules

There's a motto among Veldens: "Learn before you judge."
In Velden it is customary to treat outsiders and new experiences with wide arms and an open mind. While peoples' homes are not typically open for visitors to walk right in and strike up a conversation, the chances of finding a friendly, talkative person in public is very high.

Common Dress code

Due to the non-judgemental nature of most Veldens, there is really no standard accepted dress code. That being said most people in Velden wear very breathable attire comfortable enough for traveling in the desert due to the city's close proximity to The Grand Dunes. Virtually any form of clothing is acceptable in Velden, even full nudity, though most businesses do require patrons to wear some form of clothing before entering.
