Angela Foxglove

Chairwoman Angela Foxglove (a.k.a. Ghostleaf)

Angela Foxglove, known as "Ghostleaf" to her friends, is a Verdial botanist and designer of non-lethal weaponry.

Physical Description

Body Features

Angela keeps her Caudal symbiote's pale green layers healthy and carefully groomed, integrating it into her outfit whenever possible. Being thoroughly average in proportion and physique, Angela relies on her poise to set herself apart aesthetically from other women.

Facial Features

Angela has gentle facial features and a round head.

Mental characteristics

Education

Ever since she was a little girl, Angela was a great lover of everything to do with plants, a passion she shared with her botanist parents and younger sister; for the Foxgloves, the family greenhouse was like a second home. Being only of average intelligence, however, Angela was forced to redouble her efforts with regards to her undergraduate education, eventually acquiring an officially recognized botany degree in 9999.

Employment

Angela's company, the Ghostleaf Foundation, was created by Angela with a business loan from her doting parents. The Ghostleaf Foundation produces plant-based area defenses, with research including defoliators, fertilizers, and various grow-in-situ traps (such as dense thorn bushes, fast-growing bamboo that naturally comes to a sharp point, and shrubbery walls that exude skin-irritating compounds). Her company also recently acquired a small pharmaceutical company and set it to work producing plant-based biologics with various medicinal and psychoactive effects, from reviving weary soldiers to eroding the will of an opponent to fight without having to kill them. Despite having the capability and numerous lucrative offers to do so, Angela refuses to have her company produce lethal chemical or biological weapons, considering these to be morally reprehensible by their very nature.

Mental Trauma

As her family was heavily involved in the research of medicinal plants, the Foxgloves were frequently the focus of local addicts. When Angela had just turned 19 and her parents were away at a conference, a drug dealer broke into the greenhouse where she and her sister, Snow, were hanging out. The dealer held Snow (who is physically disabled due to overgrowth of her Caudal symbiote) hostage, demanding money, drugs, and other concessions from Angela. Angela agreed as a stalling tactic, offering to show him where the "good shit" was kept. Instead, when they reached the isolation wing of the greenhouse, Angela tripped the man into a planter module full of Dendrocnide moroides and locked the module's enclosure behind him. For the next three days, while waiting for their parents to return, Angela and Snow listened as the man was slowly driven to madness by the agony of the plants' stings.   While few would feel any sympathy for the dealer in the aftermath of this incident, the combined traumas of a home invasion, an attempted kidnapping of her disabled sibling, and her hand in someone's extended suffering (even that of a criminal) left Angela psychologically scarred. To the current day, Angela privately harbors feelings of guilt - even as her friends and family praise her for her quick-thinking in defending her sister. People who are loud or possess an overly assertive personality make her nervous, as these were traits her assailant possessed.

Personality Characteristics

Virtues & Personality perks

Angela is a motherly, patient, and conscientious individual. Her humility and careful attention to the needs of those around her inspires loyalty and affection in friends, family, and employees. Above all, Angela can be trusted with important matters, as she will either put her own best efforts forward or will find someone who can do a better job than she can.

Vices & Personality flaws

Angela defines her worthiness as a person by her utility to others rather than her own needs and desires. Despite her position as owner and development lead for her company, Angela lacks much in the way of ambition for things beyond the status quo. It generally falls to her trusted advisors to explore new marketing opportunities or push too deep into unexplored science, as Angela will typically only take things so far herself. This reticence to pursue her dreams comes, in part, from Angela's conflicted past and the poor sense of self-worth it instilled in her. Her humility, while endearing to some, is also a weakness in a professional environment. Angela has a hard time opening up to others about what what happened, concealing the truth of the incident despite how much it hurts her to think about it.

Social

Mannerisms

Angela typically exudes a sunny and mellow demeanor, though she's not afraid to use her feminine charms when required.

History

During the course of Feumont's extended tour in Petalcap Vale, he met members of the Foxglove family (including Angela) after a show and became fast friends with them. Thereafter, as Feumont gradually became a fixture of the local community, he and Angela began to regularly meet at a coffee shop near the Ghostleaf Foundation offices to converse about daily affairs.

Relationship Reasoning

While Angela has many potential suitors available to her, she appreciates Feumont's wit and colorful personality most of all, meaning that their relationship could easily move beyond friendship if he 'plays his cards right.' For his part, Feumont is glad for Angela's company, and would pursue a romantic connection, but Angela's guarded nature means that she hasn't sent him much in the way of signals.
