Adventure Logs - Levels 1 to 7

General Summary

Game 1   Dockyard thugs had a problem with Careless Whisper, a tabaxi. Got into a fight and lost.   Met the receptionist Cali (Human Female - Snobby) at the Adventurers League, gave them the missing child contract.   Met Hillbus Barneshot at Adventurers League, gave them the Armoured Beast contract.   Met Zagathon at the Boar & Banner, got info about Mussel & Eliza.   Met Mussel at his farm, asked questions and went to Eliza’s last known spot.   Found trail into the forest.   Got into an encounter with Blights.   Game 2   Killed the Blights and found the Hags hut (Carol & Sally).   Saved Eliza and killed Sally.   Carol has fled her hut and retreated deeper into the forest.   Mussel offered the gold for Eliza but they were allowed to keep it and will now venture to Valine in search of Eliza’s mother.   Met Captain Armstrong in Fallcrest (bald, moustache captain of the guard) who offered them a 500 gold reward for killing the other Hag.   Got a new contract from Cali to find a horse breeder named Beryl whose horses are being ripped apart and devoured.   Went to Perrywinkle's Emporium to find Hillbus, found him and brought Gas Masks at a discounted price.   The group plan to hunt the Gorgon in the Spurting Forest with Hillbus.   Game 3 - Level 2   Went with Hillbus and killed the Gorgon.   Found a +1 Flail and other wares within the rubble.   Went to Perrywinkle’s for a refund.   Got paid and Beloth received a letter from the Ebonhoods.   Celebrated at the pub.   Saw a farmhand who told them about Eliza’s affliction.   Met Mussell and saw Eliza mid-transformation, she tried to trick them into letting her go.   Set out to hunt down Sally, instructing Mussell to restrain Eliza further and let her go if she escapes.   Game 4   Decided to head back into the city to visit the Temple of Seven Faiths. Careless Whisper explained he could not venture forward and would instead return to the city.   Spoke to a Priest of the Seven who explained to them Hags, according to textbooks, are known to reproduce by eating offspring.   Made their way to the Hags hut, searching for clues. Beloth found tracks leading deeper into the forest.   After six hours of travel, the group found the end of the tracks, leading below a giant black tree.   Cackling Carol was discovered and defeated with an axe into the back of the head, however, something else was discovered during the encounter. A creature named Blackroot who explained he wished no harm on the adventurers and instead wanted to join forces and stop the deforestation of his forest. He explained he was once a Treant however his people were killed and his home almost destroyed after Highcrest fell and Fallcrest was constructed.   As the group debated his offer, Beloth, hearing enough of this, threw alchemists fire on him.   Game 5   The party were quick to flee from Blackroot as the fire got out of control and the underground lair began to collapse.   The party managed to escape and spotted that Blackroot had unrooted from his lair and was fleeing even deeper into the forest along with his minions.   They visited Mussel only to find Eliza had been taken by a mysterious group with a symbol of many eyes.   They visited the temple to discover that one priest had been suspended for arguing with the head priest Ulfric Oathsworn.   The adventurers also travelled to meet with Captain Armstrong and briefly bumped into a snobby woman with a grey bob. Armstrong rewarded the party with the promised 500 gold pieces. They tried to warn him about Blackroot and ask him to check the sewers but was quickly asked to leave.   The party tracked this priest down to a tavern known as the Nosy Gnome, this Dwarf by the name of Gruumble explained he had been watching Ulfric's wife Sandra Oathsworn meet regularly with a human man wearing a necklace wearing the symbol of Many-Eyes. He believed Ulfric unaware and tried to confront him which quickly found him suspended. The party told him to keep low and find safety. He explained that Ulfric's wife would unlikely to return to this place after being called out.   Jimmy met a contact in the Nosy Gnome later that night and learnt this organisation called the Cult of Many-Eyes had a base of operations near Fallcrest and agents within it.   During the next day, the party went to the Adventurers League to discover Albertus Buttergut was returning to Fallcrest today, although not until later in the evening. They also spoke around and discovered a rough location of a suspected cult hideout.   The party then went shopping meeting with a few local shopkeepers including Jarrad the Golden Wizard, who was wary of Jimmy.   Commissioned a set of Gorgon Armor for Vaneshka which will be ready in one week from the Golden Anvil, this set her back 200 gold pieces.   Game 6   Left the city to head to the cultists' hideout, of which they met a Gnome named Indwell. He was searching for a group of companions and decided to join the group.   The group ventured to the hideout and attacked from above, dropping a boulder upon two of the mercenaries. But not before using invisibility to scout it out.   They plundered the contents of the camp and took a long rest, ready to venture into the cave and hopefully discover the fate of Eliza.   Game 7   In the morning, they ventured into the cultist's hideout. They traversed through the dungeon solving each puzzle and discovered this was once some kind of shrine to Sehanine.   Eventually, the found Eliza who was being drained of blood by a large man known as Burnshot, who fed himself a couple of potions which empowered and enraged him.   They defeated Burnshot and decided to put an end to Eliza's suffering with Vaneshka dealing the killing blow. The body was burnt and a letter was found explaining they were collecting the blood and a contact from the Dragonrend Mountains would be arriving soon.   The group decided to split up with two travelling back into Fallcrest and the other two staking out the location for the contact from Dragonrend to arrive.   Game 8 - Level 3   Over two days Beloth and Jimmy waited for the Hitchcock's to arrive. They laid an ambush which went off without much trouble, they learnt some crucial information such as the Cult's intentions and their base of operations in the Dragonrend Mountains. After letting the Hitchcock's go, they then ventured back to Fallcrest to meet with the other two and make them aware of what they had learnt.   Meanwhile, Vaneshka and Indwell purchased some gear including some armour for Indwell, they visited the Adventurers League and finally met with Albertus who told them that the Silver Knights were looking for them, he also promised them membership if they assisted the knights with their contract. But they required a name.   The two visited Mussell and told him about Eliza's death, giving him the ashes, he was thankful that they tried but also lost hope with the group and asked them to leave. The pair then went to the Boar & Banner and had a soft moment with each other, learning a bit about Indwell's backstory in the process.   The next day they went to Perrywinkle's and purchased some potions and then in the evening met with the other two.   Finally, before a long rest, they started to questions an adventuring party name but needed to think about it.   It should also be noted Vaneshka's armour will be ready in the morning and that they intend to visit the Temple of Seven Faiths for a couple of reasons.   Game 9   The group woke, Beloth was a little groggy from the night before and didn't say a huge amount, additionally, a large spoonful of porridge got caught in his beard which he tried to get out later on during the day once he was told about it. It dried like cement.   Vaneshka collected her Gorgon Plate armour from the Golden Anvil and sold her previous chain mail to them.   The group met with an Aasimar named Tyrel and the other members of the Silver Knights. They learnt about their hunt for Blackroot and were offered to join them on the hunt for 100 gold pieces each.   Our adventurers joined the Adventurers League finally and chose a name, that being the 'Duskbreakers'. The Duskbreakers signed the paperwork and learnt about what their membership entails;
  • Access to lots of contracts from clients around the world.
  • A 25% discount on adventuring gear and equipment, purchases must be made through a receptionist such as Cally.
  • Membership includes free lodging at all Adventurers League hubs such as the one in Fallcrest. Others around the world.
  • Failed contracts will include a fee that must be paid to maintain membership status, continued failure will require the loss of membership.
  • Your organisation, Duskbreakers, is, in essence, a sub-organisation of the Adventurers League, and therefore your reputation is their reputation and vice versa. A bad reputation will result in loss of membership.
  • The Adventurers League are out to do good and make money, acts of an evil nature are not tolerated and will result in loss of membership.
  • The group split up once more to run a few errands, including visiting the Ebony Shaft, an incredibly shady back-alley tavern and accepting the job offer from the Silver Knights.   The newly established Duskbreakers along with the Silver Knights travelled into the Spurting Forest in search of Blackroot. They travelled deep and eventually found Blackroot recuperating deep within the forest, with his minions on the outskirts. After a semi-successful quiet approach, both organisations launched their attack on Blackroot, gaining the element of surprise.   Indwell and Gundrin (a War Priest of the Silver Knights) dealt significant damage to Blackroot through a barrage of fire-based spells, while Beloth climbed up Blackroot's bark and chopped off his nose, and then was launched like a projectile towards Indwell who blocked with a shield spell. Vaneshka and Indwell turned their attention to the twig-like minions, with the former soaking up tons of pitiful attacks that hardly dented her new Gorgon plate armour. After a surprising quick encounter with Blackroot, Blackroot fell to a necrotic barrage of cat paws that dragged Blackroot deep into the earth and withered his bark grey.   Game 10   Received their payment from the Silver Knights, camped up and retrieved the Wand of Entanglement from Blackroot.   Went back to Fallcrest, headed to the adventurers league and got some info on Beryl.   Spent some time with Gnome's dressed as Goblins whilst Beloth investigated Selena's imprisonment, a jailer explained the bail was 500 gold pieces.   Brought some poor horses from a woman named Kathra who is in competition with Beryl.   Visited Beryl on his farmstead and investigated the place, discovering he recently had a scuffle. They also found tracks leading up the mountain made by a poisonous Troll.   They followed the tracks and found Peareek's lair, they tried to ambush him but he was aware of their presence, he killed Bryan the Familiar when he tried to fly into the cave.   Game 11   The adventurers discovered Peereek’s lair and after a rather nasty encounter, with both Beloth and Vaneshka almost falling to the Troll’s venomous attacks.   They searched the lair and found 88 gold pieces, they also searched the escape tunnel and saw a tower within rock further up the mountain.   They rested outside of the cave then spent the rest of the day camped at the bottom of the mountain before heading to collect their reward from Beryl.   Adelard is Beryl’s son who is a blacksmith in Neminster.   Through a mischievous plan, they impersonated Rich-Hard and tricked Beryl into revealing what had happened to him... i.e. He had been threatened and told he had to deliver batches of Hags blood to the Tower Within Rock.   They then further tricked him by pretending to capture Rich-Hard and hogtie him. He then told the adventurers a little more about his story, asking that they not involve him.   The adventurers discovered the Tower Within Rock and came up with a plan to infiltrate the hideout.   Using the disguises they had previously acquired and a disguise self spell, the party managed to scout out all the levels of the tower with Beloth and Vaneshka remaining on the ground floor whilst Jimmy and Indwell met with the leader of the group Sadalf an enchanter, who explained that they were close to gaining the second Many-Eyed Key but were stuck behind a puzzle door.   After about 45 minutes of careful trickery and thinking, the two spellcasters managed to solve the riddles and open the puzzle door, revealing lots of treasure including the Many-Eyed Red Key. However Sadalf was with them and eventually, his followers arrived to celebrate leaving Jimmy and Indwell in an awkward situation.   Beloth and Vaneshka wanted to kill the Captain but kept a cool head, waiting for the right time to strike.   Game 12 - Level 4   The adventurers decided to go along with Sadalf's plan to take the key to the prophet, even giving it back to him when asked. At least until the right moment appeared.   Jimmy counted out the gold and divided it amongst the 'party'.   Eventually, Vaneshka grew impatient and decided to seek the Captain out, whilst doing so she found him and her alone and went for it, knocking out the Captain and moments later killing him outright.   It didn't take long for a full-on fight with the mercenaries to ensue, with Vaneshka, Beloth and Indwell working together to make it appear as if the mercenaries had mutinied against the cult. To the parties surprise, this worked and the mercenaries were swiftly dealt with, even the two who had gone up to collect the wagon in time.   The party along with Sadalf and a portion of his apprentices began to travel to Fallcrest whilst Beloth took a couple of apprentices up the mountain to scout for reinforcements, where Beloth eventually tricked them and took them both out.   About an hour into the journey to Fallcrest, Jimmy and Sadalf revealed themselves to each other through a series of failed charms and Vaneshka took that opportunity to smash her horse into another taking out a couple of wizards and beginning a tough encounter on horseback. Despite Indwell dealing the final blow to Sadalf, Vaneshka was killed in the battle, leaving Jimmy and Indwell to pick up the pieces.   Jimmy was left stunned, uncertain and unsure on what to do whilst Indwell was decisive in his decisions and quickly rode off with Vaneshka to Fallcrest, leaving Jimmy to relay the message to Beloth.   When Beloth eventually arrived, he found Jimmy in a rather sorry state, Jimmy delivered the news to Beloth and the two of them got onto their horses and began to ride to Fallcrest, with Beloth taking the reigns of both horses as Jimmy was still left almost speechless.   A few hours passed and Indwell can now see the city of Fallcrest in range, with the other two party members just a couple of hours behind.   It should be noted that one apprentice managed to escape, likely to relay information to the rest of the Cult.   Game 13   Indwell took Vaneshka's lifeless body to the Temple of Seven Faiths, he met with the High Priest, Ulfric Oathsworn who explained to Indwell that if he was to go through with this Vaneshka might not be the same as she once was. Death takes a heavy toll on the soul and sometimes they come back changed.   Nonetheless, Indwell insists that they try. He tells Bryan to keep a watch for the others and precedes to sleep in the same chambers as Vaneshka's body to the alarm of Jimmy and Beloth who eventually arrive after being guided by Bryan into the chamber.   They are shown to their chambers and rest the night uneasily.   The next morning, Ulfric met with the adventurers and also introduced them to another priest of the seven faiths, Boop a somewhat disgruntled older cleric of the faith.   Ulfric once again warned them that bringing Vaneshka back would take a toll on her soul and that sometimes even when offering the soul to return to one's corpse, the offer might be refused. He also explained it would cost them 2000 gold pieces for the materials and various fees of the temple.   Ulfric offered them a chance to instead to complete a task for him and retrieve a long lost scroll of religious knowledge he had located deep within the Ruins of Highcrest. The party explained they needed to think on this before making a decision, Ulfric explained that Vaneshka had time as he had cast a spell that halted the decay of her corpse.   After a few hours of discussion, the group were decided that they would bring pay to bring her back and also depart on the quest to retrieve the scroll once Vaneshka had rested. And so with that preparations were made to bring Vaneshka back the next morning.   During the day, Boop provided the group with some comfort and even went drinking with them.   The next morning, with the preparations made and Ulfric ready to begin the ritual, he invited the party to assist with the ritual, Boop, of course, remaining respectfully distant.   The ritual took some time with much chanting and incense being burnt, Ulfric invited the adventurers one by one to say a few words that would echo into the afterlife and bring the soul back. A hearty speech was given by each in their own unique way and the diamond began to spin, eventually rising into the air and being consumed in awe of magical light.   Vaneshka, or at least her soul, was offered the choice to return, however for reasons the party were unaware of, the offer was rejected and her soul remained in whatever the afterlife was for her.   A funeral of sorts was held and her body was buried in the catacombs with all her equipment as is her tradition and way of her faith so that she might carry them on into the afterlife. Before the catacomb was sealed, Indwell left her a letter in the hopes of it being read in the afterlife.   With this sad event complete, the party made plans to depart for the Ruins of Highcrest in search of the scroll, with Boop accompanying them at the request of Ulfric and a further mystery to the ruins to be solved regarding the Cult of Many-Eyes, The Prophet and the Many-Eyed Door.   Game 14   The party went to Corkton and under-covered spies.   They met with Lady Marquisa who told them their potential future, six cards were drawn.   She requested a necklace, bearing the third eye of Sehanine.   Travelled to the ruins of Highcrest, camped up and was attacked.   Game 15   Insane opening as Beloth and Indwell tried to climb a large cliffside rather than float to the ground, unfortunately, the combination of both Beloth's and Indwell's magic resulted in the death of Indwell.   Eventually, the group managed to get to safe ground, not before Boop helped to haul Indwell and Jimmy to the top of the cliffside. Beloth athletically managed to do this himself.   Boop was quick to take Indwell back to Fallcrest, however, a Goblin blockade and a Goblin rogue managed to subdue Boop and eventually both Beloth and Jimmy.   Their goblin captors took them to the ruins once more to meet with their King.   Game 16 - Level 5   Met with King Orpheus Highcrest who through a strange turn of events hailed them champions for killing the Chimeras and learnt of a creature they called Boneback who had been blocking the pathway to the trade district.   After a nights rest, somewhat uncomfortably with the fear of striges and goblinoid women coming in the night, the party agreed to help clear the blockade and dispatch of Boneback.   Travelling with the Goblin Rogue known as Sir Grolk, the party eventually found the encampment in the tunnels, it was filled with Duergar.   The stealthy Goblin scouts snuck up for an ambush whilst Beloth, the adventurers and the Hobgoblin warriors charged into the encampment.   It was a tough fight but the Duergar's were being outnumbered, until Boneback himself arrived, a huge yellow-eyed giant with half his back melted away.   Despite a fierce fight with Boneback, he was eventually defeated, but not before Beloth turned on his new Goblin allies and proceeded to attack Grolk one on one.   Grolk began to run however was stopped by Boop through the use of a 'Command' spell. Beloth dealt a deathly blow but was spared from death by Boop.   Now with the Goblin unconscious and tied up, the tables have turned. And with Boneback defeated and the tunnel clear the adventurers have a lot of options ahead and still search for the lore scroll that Ulfric has requested.   Game 17   Convinced Grolk to hide the truth of the capture and to allow them to collect Indwell's body.   The Beloth and Boop looted the bodies, collecting coin and a magically enchanted Rope of Climbing.   Arrived at the Highcrestian castle, King Orpheus heard the good news and reward them by beginning preparations to allow Indwell to be revived. Boop travelled to find his body while Beloth and Jimmy returned to their quarters.   Boop learnt more about the ritual that would be used to revive Indwell, part of which was to sacrifice a soul of another living humanoid. Boop was forced to choose a humanoid in which to sacrifice out of a handful of poor treated prisoners, one was a human, another an elf and the others Duergar. Boop chose a Duergar and showed kindness to the human and elf.   Later on, the party got together and planned their next steps. They pushed away the Goblin woman and Jimmy scouted for an exit using his disguise self spell to take the form of a Hobgoblin using his illusion.   The next morning, the plan was decided, Boop would collect Indwell's corpse whilst Jimmy and Beloth would save the other prisoners.   Jimmy and Beloth successful dispatched the guards with some rather intimating spells from Jimmy impressing Beloth, all were free to leave although the Duergar would not be allowed to accompany the party on Beloth's request.   Boop had his hands full in the throne room when he wouldn't go through with the ritual. He left quickly through an exit to the many corridors pursued by hordes of Goblinoids, including the cunning rogue and now titled Prince Grolk, who was quick enough to keep up with Boop as he outran the other pursuers.   Boop was about to arrive at the dungeons, 30 minutes on, pursued by Grolk who was in the rafts considering himself hidden (although Boop was aware he was being followed by Grolk).   Game 18   You run down the castle hallways, looking for the balcony Jimmy had scouted before. When you arrived you quickly leapt over the collapsed parts and made your way to the castle gates.   Grolk and Beloth fought one an another a couple of times whilst Jimmy and Boop focused on getting Milford and Springwalker out as quickly as possible, tricking and calming the guards they encountered.   Once out and finally free of the goblin horde's grasp they devised a plan to escape the ruins, part of this involved setting fire to a ruined building and finding a place to hide away, this being a cellar.   They spent the evening discovering the identities of Milford and Melesse Springwalker. They then waited the next evening until the sun rose before they made their escape.   When out of the ruins they found a battle site where the goblinoids had been frozen and shattered, this eventually led them back to Corkton.   The party then rested in the Muted Mule tavern and was approached by a mysterious Elf called Kadota who was looking for Indwell and admitted that the battle site was her handy work.   Game 19   A new dawn rose, the adventurers spoke to Kadota and she invited herself to join the group as they took the body of Indwell back to Fallcrest. Purchasing a Donkey called Maurice.   When they arrived they went to the Temple of Seven Faiths, spoke to one of the priests there and paid to lodge Indwell there for two ten-days for 20 gold pieces.   Boop spoke privately with Ulfric who suggested the favour he can provide would be another chance to revive a party member for free.   The group then spoke about an organisation called the Ebonhoods who seemed to be causing trouble here in Fallcrest, Beloth revealed he had originally arrived at Fallcrest in search of information from them and was given a letter by Barneshot to break free someone called Selene who was imprisoned in the Fallcrest dungeons.   Jimmy, seeing no better moment, cast light and blinded Springwalker as Boop escaped with Milford to free him from her clutches. Kadota sided with Springwalker and attempt to apprehend Milford before stopping suddenly after a few words were exchanged with Boop. Meanwhile, Jimmy charmed Springwalker and Milford was no longer her concern.   After this cultist's escape, the group headed to the Boar & Banner for drinks. However, they used this as a quick way to abandon Springwalker in the tavern and leave for Highcrest.   Before leaving they encountered a group of Ebonhoods who were searching for James who had disguised himself as an old man. The Ebonhoods let them go but told them to tell James that the Magpie was waiting for him.   Jimmy revealed he was in fact once a member of the Ebonhoods but it was a different life and he has changed now.   The adventurers made an eight-day journey on foot back to the ruins of Highcrest, they scoured the western portion of the ruined city and discovered an access point into the great library via a sinkhole.   In the library the group spoke with the dead and learnt about strange paper constructs and that these cultists were searching for and found a 'key'. They are now heading through the library in search of the scroll Ulfric had requested.   Game 20 - Level 6   The party ventured into the library and were quick to encounter the tiny paper constructs that had killed two of the cultists. However, despite being vastly outnumbered, the adventurers were able to quickly dispatch them and a well-placed fireball from Kadota incinerated a large portion of the paper guardians.   They took a short rest near a statue of King Orpheus before following the faint magical humming that eventually led to a strange crystal-covered room where a large animated crystal creature resided.   After an intense battle, the crystal creature was defeated after Jimmy and Kadota destroyed the crystals. A magical staff was found within the creature.   The group rested by it appeared that Agamora had her own ideas as she threw the cultist bodies down before the adventurers.   During the beginning of the next morning as the group climbed up, Agamora ambushed the group and almost killed two party members however through some quick deceiving from Jimmy, Agamora spared their lives and demanded they left.   Whilst recovering from the encounter, Boop spoke to Milford who was useless and Agamora who told them to visit her to discuss the recovery of the key.   Game 21   After some discussion, the party agreed to meet with Agamora.   Jimmy took the lead in the discussion whilst the others held back in a tactical formation to avoid whatever breath weapon the creature had.   Boop and Kadota also got involved in the conversation at times whilst Beloth kept a tactical distance away.   The party learnt quite a bit from Agamora who explained;
  • The cultist had indeed taken a key from her when they tricked her into conversation whilst others snuck in and stole the key.
  • A creature called a Beholder had recently over the past few years made a lair deeper below the ruins, in a place known as the Underdark and in doing so had forced a clan of Duergar to the surface and Boneback.
  • Agamora knew the location of the scroll that the party sought and would reveal it if they recovered the key for her.
  • She did not seem to know the location of the cultist headquarters.
  • The party left Agamora be and decided to head across the ruins to the trade district where the battleground between the goblins and Duergar was. It seemed that in the aftermath, the Duergar clan had been wiped out yet the party noticed that the survivors were being taken by what appeared to be another clan of Duergar baring the symbol of Many-Eyes.   Using Kadota's familiar, the party was able to take a Duergar hostage though not before a fight ensued. The hostage revealed that he served Lord Edalax who seemed to be the beholder Agamora had mentioned. He explained that Edalax wanted to turn the Duergar clan into loyal servants and that humans were not part of the clan. Furthermore, this hostage revealed that Edalax had met with a human with large bushy eyebrows who also wore a symbol of the Many-Eyes.   After finishing the hostage off, something which Jimmy somewhat disagreed with. The party ventured back up and out of the darkness of the underground ruins and back into the light.   A little while later, whilst on patrol, the adventurers spotted, through sheer critical luck, a cultist heading down a trapdoor off into the distance into the yet unknown section of the Highcrest Ruins.   Game 22   The party scouted, with Jimmy in the lead, and then headed into the lair of the Cult of Many-Eyes.   Despite having superior numbers and a trap at the entrance, the Cultist's were unable to stand the onslaught of the Duskbreakers. Kadota, in particular, was extremely bloodthirsty eviscerating the cultists with a barrage of fireball spells.   Beloth also seemed to enjoy the bloodshed somewhat and used his ring of jumping to smash an opponent into the ground.   Boop, on the other hand, found all the death and dying around him overwhelming, conjuring perhaps memories of the past. Nonetheless, he pulled himself together and continued onward.   At the corridor before the room to the Prophet, Jimmy, unfortunately, got mixed up with the instructions for passing this known trap and forced the group into another fight, this time with animated armors.   Towards the end of the encounter, Kadota thought it best to unlock and blast open the doors ahead of which sprung a fireball spell. But a voice came from within and seemed to want to parlay with the party.   After finishing the last of the constructs the group cautiously headed into the 'research room' to meet with the Prophet.   Game 23   After a long, drawn-out conversation with the Prophet and learning/confirming information with him, you eventually got into a fight when he saw through Boop's deception to form an alliance.   The Prophet activated his runic trap which stunned members of both sides as the Prophet made his escape down a secret corridor, previously eyed up by Boop. Despite having the upper hand, Boop did catch up to the Prophet with ease but was thwarted when a wall of force kept the two of them apart and a well-placed counter spell stopped Boop's progression allowing the Prophet the time he needed to escape.   After a relatively easy encounter with the remainder of the Cultist forces and the Gazer. The Duskbreakers and co rested in Kadota's magically summoned Tiny Hut.   Eventually, the party headed back to Corkton but not before discovering the diary of the Prophet signed R.FD which revealed that Sandra was his lover and that the two of them knew much more than the rest of the cultist's working for them.   They spoke with the ex-cultist member in Corkton who seemed to have changed his ways and had no intention to rat out the group to the Prophet.   Boop sent a few sending spells out and received the responses. As the group made the last few days journey back to Fallcrest on horseback.   With the group now freshly arrived in Fallcrest, a few weeks since their last venture here, Kadota and Boop are travelling to the Temple of Seven Faiths, Jimmy was quick to abandon Beloth to head to somewhere in secret and so with nobody else around Beloth headed to the Ebony Shaft, a potential location of the Ebonhoods according to James the Fox's information.   Game 24   Boop and Kadota speak with Ulfric and reveal to him that Sandra is sleeping with the Prophet who turns out to be Reginald Fitzgerald once Kadota showed Ulfric the face, a long-dead man. Ulfric seemed genuinely shocked by this information and requested that Sandra was brought in rather than killed.   Beloth waited in the Ebony Shaft and was approached by the very elf he was required to save, Selene. She then requested that Beloth brought Jimmy here and for them to assist the Ebonhoods.   Jimmy spoke to an old contact and after having a heart to heart decided he would humour what the Ebonhoods had to say.   Beloth and Jimmy then travelled into the Ebonhoods hideout underneath the Ebony Shaft and was quickly followed by Kadota and Boop who arrived moments after they met with Sylas the Magpie.   Sylas asked the party to acquire the Cloak of the Arachnida from Albertus Buttergut, they have learnt it is sealed in a vault in his office, and that he wears the key to the vault on his person. The party explained they would have their answer within a day.   The party after a brief conversation with Jimmy against a wall made an appointment with Albertus.   The party, in waiting for the meeting, met with the Spider, a Spinster who seemed vaguely familiar. Her fortune-telling like abilities revealed a lot about the vault, and what lies within.   They explained to Albertus about the Ebonhoods and there plan and he offered to give them the cloak for a promise of it returned to him, and a deposit of 4000 gold pieces was offered.   Party agreed to steal the cloak for the Ebonhoods, need time to make preparations.   Party accepted to escort Jarrad to the opal mine in search of a magical anomaly. They agree to set off during the next morning.   Game 25   After finishing a nights rest, the group met Jarrad outside of the city and travelled with him over the course of a day and night to the mine.   Once inside the mine, the party stumbled upon an old camp reeking of decay, eventually, they found a journal that decided a gem they named the Lava Stone due to the heat radiating from it.   Boop using the speak with the dead spell, learnt that the mine was infested with chitin-covered hexapod creatures known as Kruthik, that the stone once removed caused devastating effects across the mine, collapsing parts of it and burning all those around it. He bled out after an encounter with the Kruthik as he escaped.   The party were then quick to stumble upon this Kruthik lair, however, these savage creatures were not enough to take down their next meal and even their Hive Lord succumb to Beloth's axe.   The party with Jarrad's help, began to remove the now identified Elemental Core whilst others harvested the Hive Lord's remains and searched for opals. However as the core was removed, and placed into a bag of holding, the ley lines that were connected to it were severed and the mine began to collapse around them (and the contents in the bag of holding began to burn).   Game 26 - Level 7   Things did not look good as the mine began to collapse around the Duskbreakers and the party split. However, despite a number of close calls and some heroics from all even Jarrad at the end, the party were able to escape the mine.   Outside of the collapsed mine, the party rested with Jarrad in the tiny hut. Jarrad paid the party and took their bag of holding with the elemental core inside and offered them one of his rings as a deposit for the return of the bag. The next morning, he headed to Corkton whilst the party ventured back to Fallcrest.   When they arrived in Fallcrest they were quick to go shopping, selling much of their acquired loot for a tidy sum of gold.   They took on a new contract and met with Kosmos the Enchanter, an aged and weathered male Tiefling. Unfortunately, this meeting was in the Vigorous Violin where The Prophet's brother Perkins Fitzgerald lives and works. It seemed that Kosmos's recently purchased house seemed haunted and he was in need of ghost hunters.   A day past before the group were ready to tackle the haunted house. It didn't take long before the Lorelock family haunted the party, however Boop, somewhat wise in the way of ghosts, quickly managed to establish communications with Mrs Lorelock and her daughters.   It was discovered that Gatlin Lorelock had left them after losing everything in a naval attack on his trading vessel and the family were left to fend for themselves, they were never certain how they died. The party dug up their remains and Boop removed the curse placed upon their bones, allowing the Lorelock family some peace and quiet once and for all. Though it was later discovered that Gatlin was spotted leaving Fallcrest and heading to Neminster to begin anew.   After a long evening ghost hunting, the party returned to the Adventurers League, only to find that a man called Sylas had left a letter for the Duskbreakers asking them to meet with him once again.   Game 27   The next morning, our adventurers decided to meet with Horace a member of the Bellowing Badger Mining Company about a contract in a local salt mine. The Duskbreakers then decided to met with Sylas and discover what he wanted before heading to the mine.   Once in the meeting room, Sylas revealed that Sandra Oathsworn had approached him and asked for a partnership, revealing to him the contents of the vault and encouraging him to betray the party to take hold of the third key.   After an intense conversation, and Sylas trying to convince Jimmy to join him a number of times, the party attempted to walk away but Sylas had other plans. However, a quick-thinking Jimmy turned Sylas against his allies, buying the party time to fight and bring down members of the Ebonhoods.   During this encounter, a number of new abilities and spells were revealed and the Ebonhoods despite their numbers had to retreat to another part of the hideout. This gave the party time to steal the key, the loot and escape the hideout with surprising ease.   The party, feeling a sense of danger now present in Fallcrest and their friends and allies unsafe, made the decision to flee Fallcrest and made arrangements with Ulfric to have Indwell brought back the following day. Transport to Yarlford, a scholarly place of education and research, was found.   During the next day, Indwell was brought back, however, fell into a slumber. Everyone got their affairs in order, some sending was sent and then finally during the evening the Duskbreakers set sail for new ventures beyond the region of Fallcrest, leaving behind the disrupted and partly destroyed plans of both the Ebonhoods and the Cult of Many-Eyes and taking with them the keys, keeping the vault supposedly locked.
