Lothlonde

The Enlightened Era - 7th Era - 996

Created by

The world of Lothlonde is an ancient one, civilisations have risen and fallen, the Gods have waged their personal wars and claimed their prizes at the expense of the people that worship them. What is now left, is a sundered world with ten vastly different continents, each with their own unique civilisations, environments, organisations, heroes and villains.   In Lothlonde, the Gods oversee all, with each god claiming dominion over an aspect of the world, imbuing their followers with divine magic and sending signs and portents to guide them. Much of Lothlonde is tamed and colonised with kingdoms and civilisations that span entire continents. The locals know the area well but are less informed on what lies within deep forests, steep mountains and the vast network of caves below the surface unless they've been there themselves. Lothlonde is ancient, empires have risen and fallen, leaving behind few places that have not been touched by imperial grandeur or decay. Conflict shapes Lothlonde's history, with powerful individuals who've strived to make their mark in the world and factions of like-minded individuals that can and have altered the course of history. Whatever their goals, these individuals and factions inevitably collide creating conflict that can steer the world's fate. Lothlonde is a world filled with magic, practitioners of magic are relatively few, but they leave evidence of their craft everywhere. Beyond the realms of civilisation are caches of magic items guarded by magic traps, as well as magically constructed dungeons inhabited by monsters created by magic, cursed by magic, or endowed with magical abilities.   Within this ancient world of magic and conflict, five mighty nations compete for power. These are; the Nandorian Empire, the Sylvanian Dominion, the Obsidian Council, the Azguardians and the Red Vipers. Each nation often finds itself in political and sometimes physical conflicts over resources and territories with other nations, with each trying to gain the upper hand over the other. And in recent years with five new mysterious continents having seemingly appeared from thin air, these encounters between the five nations have never been so intense. Some even fear that this ongoing conflict between the five nations could end in a world war that would devastate Lothlonde and its people for generations to come.
