Yuklidian

Yuklidian culture can largely be divided into two groups, Cosmopolitan and Central Yuklidian. It evolved naturally from the many solar cultures that inhabited the original colonisation ship.

Cosmopolitan

The Iyee, Jeonbaeki, Culcether, and Acacaran are known as the Cosmopolitans, having developed in the largely urban build-up around the temperate polar caps. The people live in large, well-developed and well-connected areas such as Iyeegi and Culcheth at the south pole. They are the most diverse of all Yuklidians. They are also the most casual, just happy to get through the day. Largely descendent from Earth and Martian cultures, they have more recently begun to embrace the Yuklid identity with the development of Spiritualism.   Jeonbaeki live at the northern poles of the planet. They are considered the most industrious, as the savannah regions around the city of Jeonbaek is a hardy place to live. Despite this, they are welcoming, and their cities boast the latest 24th century technology.   The Acara are the most wealthy of all Yuklidians, being capable medical professionals. They are seen all across Sol space in various medical institutions. While not as notable as their Asani cousins, the Acara have a maritime tradition in the form of small scale fishing.

Central Yuklidian

Central Yuklidians make up the largest ethnic groups, comprised of Llanbrydian, Délitite, and Asani culture. All of these regions are located in the dense jungles and rainforests and home to most of the planet's medical facilities. They also make up the largest concentration of Spiritualists on the planet.   The Llanbrydians are descended from celtic settlers following unfavourable conditions on Earth. They took with them their language and culture, becoming a modern state in its own right. They make up the region of Llanbryde, one territory of the larger Republic of Yuklid. It is home to the Arweinydd, the head of Spiritualism.   The Asani are largely concentrated in cities along the great Medio Ocean, the largest freshwater body on Yuklid. They are known for their naval pride and strong artistic output. Connected by a series of canals and waterways to the capital Iyeegi, these cultures developed around trading cities established in places of strategic interest.   The Délitetes mostly inhabit low lying flatlands and swamps close to rivers that connect Iyeegi and Asanobe. They are hardy, and resistant to the unfriendly conditions of the jungle. Their isolation, with most towns accessible only by boat, has led to an insular and suspicious culture developing in this area.
