Dave considers Dex a territorial rival around the Bullseye. One of their major clashes was over Alley when she first arrived. He also has history with Dex's brother, John Lockard which he takes out on Dex by proxy.
History
Dave walked out on his wife and twin daughters in 1986, long before either of them truly remember him. He remembers Amy as a quiet, intelligent girl who reminded him of his younger sister. Bitch has heard stories of her father since she was small from both her mother and her grandmother, all uncomplimentary and some of them down-right vicious. She maintains a deep grudge toward him and has no interest in reestablishing contact.
History
Dave always felt like he fell short in his father's eyes, though he couldn't explain why. Kareem was always outwardly supportive and encouraging, but when Dave made it clear early in his teen years that he felt homosexuality was disgusting and warped, Kareem withdrew from him and their relationship cooled even further.
Shared Secrets
Kareem knows where Dave fled to when he left his family. He hasn't bothered sharing the information because he feels Bitch and Vinnie are better off without Dave in their lives.
