Karnaster Evulbrung

Eccentric and wealthy explorer.

An inquiry often made to me is what I think of the great explorer Darosi. He is, of course, one of my, no, the single greatest hero to me. A man who with nothing but ink and paper, and his excellent crew, changed the way we see the skies. More than that, I delve deep into the unknown looking for traces of the Harani so that I may discover the fate of her and her crew.

Private Enterprise of Exploration

There are few people who can afford a skyship, a crew, supplies, and the time to go on personal expeditions and fewer still who would be willing to risk life, limb, and lost assets to do so. As such, most explorative endeavors are left to the regional powers and their vast pools of resources.   Sir Karnaster Evulbrung the Third is a unique man, driven by his insatiable desire to expand the known skies and funded by his incredible family fortune. Raised by a wealthy family in Burim City he spent a lot of time learning about a variety of subjects though he never stuck with one long enough to master it. His favourite books were copies of Darosi's travel journals which inspired him to explore the skies himself.   The one area he became skilled in was sailing. During business trips with his parents across the waters of Tamazee, he learned from the sailors how to operate a waterborne vessel. His parents were simply happy that his interest kept the little Karnaster away from them so they could rest during the voyage but the boy already knew what he wanted to do when he became an adult and was gaining the abilities he needed to accomplish his dreams.

Appearance

Karnaster makes no attempt to hide his age but his green eyes are still those of a wide-eyed child seeing the sky for the first time - probably because he is seeing parts of the sky for the first time. He is average height for a man of Burm though his legs are a bit longer than normal and his torso a bit shorter.   He wears well-made tough clothes that can stand up to the hardships of travel, weather, and sailing. He eschews the standard tricornes and wide-brim hats of other explorers and sailors in favor of a simple skullcap of leather and fabric that was a gift from his wife Ulra.

A Better Half

Karnaster was never looking for a commited relationship unless the she was a skyship but the life of a wealthy cityman is not so simple and his parents found a suitable partner that would improve the standing of the family through union. Ulra was a well-educated woman and talented in visual art. She wasn't interested in getting married either and in a way this made them perfect companions.   More friends and adventuring companions than a married couple, the two compliment each other very well. Karnaster flies them out beyond the known and Ulra keeps them safe and records their findings.
