Illiodim Monastery

Purpose / Function

The purpose of this building is to house serve as a base to the monks of the Order of the Rising Sun that are trying to spread the teachings of Diarmuid's Scripts of Tranquility.

Design

• The place is a "T" shaped small chapel devoted to [Ravinus, the Wielder of Light. 
• The ground floor is the chapel itself. By the main entrance there's an wooden staircase leads to the first and second floor and on the back there's a shrine for Ravinus.
• The first floor has some beds in which the monks live and leads to the second floor and third (the bell tower) 
• The bell tower is on the third floor and is the highest place of the construction. 
• There's an small cave underground the chapel. It is a place of worship and has candles spread across all of it

Entries

• The chapel can be entered through the frontdoor, from the side doors (there ate 4 on the ground floor and 2 on the second floor)  through the windows spread across the walls
• The underground entrance lies in the external western part of the monastery

Sensory & Appearance

Chapel: The place has lit candlelights spread across the whole area. It smells of wine (which can be poured on the shrine) and the voices of people praying and whispering can be heard inside these walls.    Underground: Despite being a cave, this place is absurdly bright for all the lit candles in it. Because of that, it smells a lot of incense and wax. Like in the chapel, people can be heard praying here (only monks in this area though).

Denizens

Many monks live in this monastery (around 10). Amongst them, are Master Tygo Burntus, Conquer Hammerhand and Leigma Sackins.

Defenses

The monks themselves are the only defense of this place.

History

The Illiodim Monastery is one of the four monasteries that belong to the Order of the Rising Sun. It was built ten years after the foundation of Bridgelum by Master Tygo Burntus, a halfling traveller that became a Speared Monk. Since then, the monks that live in this place have been spreading the teachings of Diarmuid's Scripts of Tranquility
