Heest: Lord of Blood
Heest, the god of blood, violence, and power. He is often associated with rites of passage, as he is believed to guide individuals through the trials and challenges of life. Heest's worshipers offer him sacrifices of blood, exclusively human, in exchange for his protection and forbidden knowledge. His followers are typically warriors and other individuals who seek great power.
Heest is a fierce and uncompromising deity, who demands loyalty and devotion from his followers. He is often depicted as a harsh judge, punishing those who fail to live up to his expectations. However, he is also a source of strength and inspiration for those who seek to prove their worth and prove themselves in battle or other trials.
Heest was the creator of blood invocation and used his own blood to fuel the fires he would invoke to consume entire cities. Being immortal Heest could burn near limitless supplies of blood to fuel his invocations, his worshippers attempting to emulate the techniques recorded in his tome quickly find their life force fading if not replenishing their own blood by the taking of others or using another’s blood as the fuel altogether. It is not uncommon for his invokers to over-draw in the heat of the moment and burn up all of their life force.
