Cellatalla, Knowledge (Cell-ah-tall-ah)

OVERVIEW

Cellatalla is Atithe's  leading Arch-Fey, whom represents the virtue of Knowledge. She was hand chosen by Queen Arch-Fey Novan to take over this domain of her Balance focused realm because of her insatiatable need for more knowledge, even though she has access to an amount of knowledge from realm after realm at her fingertips. Cellatalla is considered the most approachable Arch-Fey of all seven regions and welcomes visitors into her grove for very little in return. She is highly respected and worshiped in Atithe, and one would be hard-pressed to have anything negative to say against her.

DESCRIPTION

Not bound by the need to comply with the appearance of a mortal race, Cellatalla is a sight to behold and can be frightening above first glance. Her height reaches to a blinding 16 feet at her smallest, but has been known to grow even taller when necessary. Her body is made up solely of ancient oak bark that is twisted into gnarly branches and roots that wrap around her body to create both a bone and tendon structure. Rich green leaves, vines, and faintly glowing moss covers her body, focusing on her back and gently cascading to her sides and front. The Arch-Fey walks on two front "legs" that resemble large branches and two similar back legs that are slightly shorter. Beneath the roots and branches of her body, there is nothing. Just blackness. As if, her body is simply the branches and roots itself.
Her face is strikingly similar to a Horned Ones's face, which has lead to numerous claims that Novan did not create them, but Cellatalla herself. The roots form together to create a smoother bark to create the planes of her face. No noticeable mouth is seen, but when she speaks a lower-set piece of bark hangs open for mortals to physically see she is speaking. Where a nose ought to be, is nothing more than a naval shaped hole, stretching up to her even further indented eyes. Looking very similar to a hole one would find in a natural tree, her round and orange glowing globes are nestled deep into her face. At first, the color seems to be solid but the more a mortal stares, they can see tiny strings of gold wiggling around like loose strings in a ball of yarn. This is thought to be threads of knowledge; her seeing and knowing all there is to know.
From her face is large antler-like branches soaring to the air to finish in fully fledged branches, complete with their own system of leaves that seems to change with the season. All together this effect looks like the top of a very full, lush, and ancient tree. A bird's eye view would deem her undistinguishable, except by size, from the trees around her.

PERSONALITY

Considered to be the most benevolent of all the reigning Arch-Fey, Cellatalla is easily approachable in her grove that she resides and stays in unless she is doing her random visitations of the towns and cities of Atithe. It is almost considered a rite of passage among most of Atithe to visit her grove before they become official adults. Cellatalla delights in these ceremonious visits and eagerly listens to their stories and life experiences. However, this is usually a one-sided affair. The Arch-Fey does not eagerly supply her vast knowledge to visitors in fear that society will not evolve on their own terms or the knowledge can be misused to harm Atithe or others. There are legends that she has granted seeds of what she knows to worthy leaders for a good cause, but what she said and who she said it to is a little blurry and unknown. The only name that has been attached to recently being granted this gift is the leader of the Atithe Center, Yaren Tanglewood. When she does speak, her voice is a deep and booming sound with words that are almost complicated riddles and difficult to follow.
One of Cellatalla's greatest delights is randomly hosting festivals in her grove or other places in Atithe. These usually don't have a rhyme or reason to the citizens, but to her they do. Conspiracy theorists fly wild ideas around that when Cellatalla throws these festivals, it is to hide information she knows from the mortals. This isn't really the case, as far as anyone truly knows, but the theories are brushed off by most. Her favorite festival to throw happens yearly on the day The Atithe Center was founded. Every year, she hosts this festival in her grove with plentiful amounts of food for all of those who attends and a band playing joyful and uptempo music. The grand finale of the night is when Cellatalla herself deems one person in attendance the worthiest and grants them one hour in her personal library to read as much as they possibly can. This is seen as the most greatest honor one could ever receive and the annual winners are revered as Atithe's up and coming leaders and legends.
If one is in desperate need of gaining favor with Cellatalla, it is the local folklore that if a person or a party presents her with a book, tome, or artifact she has no knowledge of or does not have in her collection, she will be compelled to grant them one piece of information on any subject that they seek. It is presumed that this is the way that Yaren Tanglewood received the mythological piece of wisdom. Yaren herself has remained tightlipped on the matter and has refused to confirm or deny it.
