Thiff Settlement in Laminarum | World Anvil

Thiff

Thiff is the capital of Mot D'nir, though it has changed hands many times. Before it was a capital, it was an ambiguous territory that the Quai flourished within, leading several groups to travel there and set up camps before eventually creating villages, towns, and a city.   It's vernacular is closer to that of a Naga-Tel dialect than the Tara-Jhen as it was founded by the snakefolk initially. Several groups already existed there when he Quai first sprouted, and it's lack of spread made its influence impossible to notice. It simply carried a pretty glow that may scare predators away. Eventually, when the Tara-Jhen came and made friends with the snakefolk, they brought the Quai away to different lands, where its metaphysical properties were discovered.    The region grew larger over time and as the Quai spread outside of their territory, travel between the metaphysical spaces became difficult, which required knowledgeable individuals to be used as guides between them. These individuals would be named "Navigators" and still serve as the ruling members of the Tara-Jhen today.   Once the Quai unexpectedly became choosey, only selecting one race at a time, the territories began to shift. Thiff is now currently under the Control of the Tara-Jhen, as is the Quai, though its culture underwent drastic changes after the events brought on by Arniel Kane.
