Quai Trodders

The Quai trodders were a short lived "species," for lack of a better term in modern Laminarum. As creatures without intelligence are not considered to have any form of culture, the Quai trodders are thought to have been a sped up speciation by the Quai itself.
These trodders had odd properties, including a faint glow, the ability to shift in and out of the "Realm of the Quai," and a total change in their housing habits. The Quai Trodders had a true hive mind and were either enhanced by, or were directly commanded by the Quai itself. These are the first recorded non-sapient fauna to be selected by the deity, and it has not been replicated since. Further, it was by complete mistake that the trodders came into contact with the Quai. Most native species know or evolutionarily "understand" not to antagonize the Quai or otherwise use it. The dislocated trodders, not having this instinct, invaded a portion of the Quai and as such, consumed it.
