Ryan Woodfare
Magistrate of Woodfare , Ryan enjoys his responsibilities and is happy to represent the people of the town and surrounding area in the dealings with the local nobility. He is known to be fair, but harsh, in his judgments concerning the local laws, as acting as a judge once a month is part of his duties. He is the voice of the local counsel, and as much a figurehead as he is anything else.
Any appeal of Ryan's decisions must be brought directly to the local knight or, even higher up, the baron. Few people are willing to deal with those who are not of the common class, as the nobility is known to be much harsher and less patient in their judgments than the council, so there are very few appeals.
Ryan is also responsible for the council's budget, as decided by the town's knight, who answers to the Baron. Ryan is very careful with this and has a somewhat miserly reputation where that is concerned. He is also known for creative problem-solving, which seems to have kept him in his seat through several terms of office. His position is appointed by Baron Woodfare on the recommendation of the council.
Overweight, middle-aged, and arrogant, Ryan Woodfare likes to dress well. He is easy to get along with, so long as you respect his position. Many people respect him. He is married, with two teenaged daughters.
