Adaon books a small ship to the eastern island where the Bigfoots are to be moved, costing him 40 blun. Talia and Dathania decide to spend their last day here shopping...
Meanwhile the rest of the group goes to investigate Angelique's place. The place is locked and boarded, Ivan pulls off the boards, and as soon as they go in, they notice that the side window is smashed in. They find a single footprint, which Cyren determines is a woman's. (Cyren is a master tracker.) Evelyn goes into the bedroom and finds that is has been tossed, They search carefully and find that there is a hidden spot underneath the floorboards about 12" x 12" x 40". Cyren determines that the break-in is anywhere from last night to three nights ago. Theories now abound... They board the place back up and head back to the constable and return the key.
They question the constable about more details about the murder and find that she was murdered on her way back from work at a local bar, called "Le gros coquelet noir". The sign shows a picture of a completely black rooster on it.
... Adaon arrives at the island about mid-day. While floating about the island in cloud form he hears a couple of bearcat screams. He decides to search for a new location. Several km away he finds a place. He then lands and makes a portal large enough for the Bigfoots to go through. His spell lasts long enough for them all to get through. He leaves a wizard mark with the matriarch and tells her that if the place is too difficult she can contact him to help them escape. And he explains how to activate the rune. He also gives them an overview of the island. He then spends the afternoon chatting and helping them, and also learns their lore. Once evening comes Adaon leaves and goes to the main island.
During the afternoon Ivan decides to put on the cloak of gender change, and is made fun of my Dathania, because he only appears to shrink. And she asks, "How do you Jarai tell each other apart?" Then Ivan wanders off to hang out in the slums in the off chance of running into Randall or Gerhardt. Cyren and Evelyn go to the black cockerel pub.
Evelyn enjoys her time at the pub, which is ran by a large, muscled Strakko man (Ygrasch), who is very obviously gay. He dresses to show off his muscles in his upper body, and prefers to wear women's skirts with traditional Strakko boots. Evelyn wants to talk to the other women who work here. They find that Angelique is mostly liked, although there is some prejudice because of her previous profession. The boyfriend's name was Gerhardt.
After the interviews here, they decide to go down to the "red light" district and rent one of the ladies to question... Ivan wanted to dress like a hooker to go down there, apparently misunderstanding the intent, until Evelyn explains it all. They go and question one of the prostitutes about Angelique. She answers several questions and points them in the direction of another woman who was an occasional client of Randall. The woman has a passing resemblance to Angelique. She is also asked about Angelique and Randall and Gerhardt. It is discovered that Randall once showed up with a woman who was more buff than he was who ordered him around using gestures.
The talk eventually gets to a point where the characters are arguing in Valkran about whether they should offer this poor woman, whose story came out that she was captured as a 12-year-old girl and put into slavery, but has in the last couple of years earned her freedom, even though her current career (which is pretty much all she's known) is not the best. Eventually Evelyn hires Miranda as her permanent body servant.
Adaon returns and is given a sample of blood from the crime scene. He uses this to contact someone named Loch'la. They talk about the murder, Randall, Gerhardt, and how the woman got way into Ellenar in three days since the robbery. It comes out that she stole a planarsword from Angelique. She found out that there was a very magical item that could transport one person anywhere s/he wants. Adaon negotiates to buy this from her fro 2500 blun (very undervalued).
Evelyn breaks into Gerhardt's apartment and discovers his corpse hanging, looking like a suicide. After Cyren investigates, they realise that he was beaten and murdered and the murderer cleaned up the place and locked it from the outside, making it look like a suicide. They also find that he has been dead for 4 days. Adaon physically joins the group. He take a few hairs from the dead man and casts a spell that traces back to whomever gave him the beating. It points him to Ellenar.
Evelyn then goes and gets the constable and takes him and a couple of other guard to the crime scene, explains the details of what they all found, and asks to be kept in the loop about what Clarence's situation is. She then goes and picks up Miranda, then heads back to her hotel.

Everyone eats and is surprised by Evelyn coming down for breakfast with a pretty young woman. After breakfast she takes Miranda shopping for better clothes, joined by Talia. Evelyn trades Cyren an aquamarine gemstone for a set of garnet earrings. Cyren sells his stone for 500 blun.
Adaon looks for a small geode and pays 200 blun for it. Later he collects the reward of 500 klib from the city council. They port home.
Domisi 36 - Back at Bear Keep
Almost immediately after the group of heroes arrives home Miranda realises that they are very wealthy, nobility in fact. She bows to Baron Ivan, embarrassing him, and also bows to each of the other titled party members. Everyone goes and visits their personal space, Ivan particular to visit his daughter Kiera, afraid that her teenage hormones got the better of her and she was "misbehaving" with Moritz, but they appear to be good kids.
