Sacred River

The sacred river which runs through the center of Rena holds The Wastelands of eastern Rena from spreading to the western side of Rena. The source of the river is at the Chapel of Lenesel within the Celestial forest, the magic of Lenesel enchants the river, giving it the power to hold off tainted land and evil magic. The water itself glows with an enchanting shade of teal-blue and has great magical properties bestowed by Lenesel on any life it comes into contact with.

Geography

The sacred river is very wide and stretches over many hundreds of miles from the Celestial forest all the way down to near the southern border of Rena. It acts as the barrier between The Wastelands and the left side of Rena, it has been noted that the river is strangely straight with very little curving and very few branching rivers. The water of the river is perfectly clear yet glows with a bright blue-teal light.

Fauna & Flora

The sacred river is filled with magically large fish who's scales glow with blue light. The water of the river has powerful magical properties imbued into it by Lenesel, the kelp and plants grow tall and have a teal hue much like other things enchanted by Lenesel. The grass near the river also grows very tall and a stream of the water from the river branches out into the Alchemic Grasslands, magnifying the already very strong nature magic which had been imbued into the land for thousands of years.

Natural Resources

The sacred water from the river is very valuable for farmers but is not easy to gather. When taken from the river the water's magical properties quickly wear off unless the one transporting it has the favor of Lenesel and does not carry it in too large a quantity. Because the water is hard to transport, while sometimes rich and lucky farmers on Rena, eastern Kaelia, and northern Tonkir will have access to it, farmers living anywhere else will most likely never see the immensely powerful properties it provides, such as increasing the height and yield of plants. When used in conjunction with soil from the Alchemic Grasslands, giant plants large enough to feed an entire family can grow from normal seeds. The water is also said to cure potent sicknesses and can be used in conjunction with serums from the Asrancis Swamp to create potions with the effect of a greater restoration spell. Of course these potions run for well over 3,000 gold, are extremely rare, and must be administered quickly by one blessed by Lenesel so that they do not lose their effect before they can be used.
