Spellster Dylan de la Torre
One of many born within the walls of Demarn's spellster tower, Dylan was immediately taken from his birth mother and, after being tested to see if he'd the potential for magic, was given over to Guardian Tricia for raising.
Tower Years
He had as regular a childhood as can be expected within the tower walls, gaining the same teaching that was elsewhere only offered to the nobility, the wealthy and the clergy. After his power announced itself during his fifth year, his teachings became balanced between typical schooling and magical. After showing an aptitude for fighting and the ability to create a barrier that few could dent and none could break, he was shuffled into battle training in eventual preparation for joining the army. His guardian managed to convince the Overseers that he wasn't strong enough to fight after a stint involving his friends, pre-teen clumsiness brought on by his gangly frame and a none-too-small dose of ego saw him ushered into the healer's quarters. The display of healing magic also captivated the young spellster and Dylan was transferred to healing teaching instead, showing not only an even greater talent, but a keenness in the task, a spark that was lacking during his duelling. It was during this time that he gained the innate healing. When the strength behind his abilities was questioned by the other healers, his guardian had him transferred once more to the library in the hopes that his inquisitiveness would settle there. By pure chance, his transfer happened at the same time a dwarven hedgewitch was in residence. Drawn in by the lure of glimpsing the outside world through another's stories, something that was few and far between amongst the spellsters, he would eventually go on to spend his remaining years within the tower studying languages, history and mythology to aid the dwarves in their search for ancestral relics.Delinquicy
Despite his guardian's utmost ability to keep her charge out of trouble, Dylan has come under the sterner gaze of the overseers. Whilst not having any desire to break the ultimate ruling of the spellster tower and leave its confines, his attempt to see beyond the walls gained him an overnight stint in the tower's isolation cells.Physical Description

Because of his innate healing ability and tasks that often kept him indoors, Dylan has only a few freckles adorning his body with one being on his lower back.
After the faulty Infitialis collar he was originally leashed with exploded whilst in the process of being removed, he now has a scar that encompasses his throat.

Despite the overall open outlook on sexuality in Demarn, having an attraction to more than one gender is frowned upon in the kingdom's spellster tower. As such, Dylan wrestled with the idea of finding men attractive after having slept with women, suppressing it throughout his teen years and the two decades living within the tower. Only when he met the King's Hound, Tracker, who showed interest in him and gave Dylan breathing room to reconsider his sexuality did he permit himself the exploration.
