Napoleon

Napoleon Bonaparte was Emperor of France.

Napoleon lost the Territory of Louisiana to America during the War of the Third Coalition. The treaty, negotiated with Augustus I, became the first time a European monarch met with an American one.

He placed many of his siblings on European thrones, such as Joseph as King of Spain and Louis as King of Holland . The latter joined the Fifth Coalition, and Napoleon attempted to dispose of him with an invasion. The invasion failed, and Napoleon was forced to recognize Holland's independence.
