Goddess of the Moon
Luna is the protective light of the moon. According to myth, she ensures that there is light each night to drive back the darkness and ensure all survive to see the morning. Every kingdom across Khinarzi acknowledges her with at least respect as the oldest deity of the plane and as the one who along with the very soul of the world slew the Dark One at the end of the Dawn Era. Just as the moon pierces the darkness of the night alone with her light so too does the light of Luna pierce darkness of evil.
Luna is said to appear as a beautiful and noble motherly figure, her colours changing to match the current stage in the moon’s cycle from the pure white of the full moon to the pitch black of a new moon. White changes to red during the occurrence of a Blood Moon when it is said her anger and rage is brought to bear. Likewise her garb changes based on the phase of the moon and which aspect is at the fore.
Luna’s powers and attitude change with the waxing and waning of the moon. Luna is generally caring, radiating confidence Luna as she casts her light into the dark. She is calm and empathetic, standing as both healer, carer and protector over the mortals of the plane. She however will be quick to turn to anger and be a force of destruction against those who are servants of evil and darkness.
Luna’s Influence
Luna is a goddess of justice and protection. A symbol to clerics and paladins of good and order, the crest of the Moon Goddess adorns many halls of high leadership and justice in Mystira, invoking her will in all matters of justice as her light pierces the darkness of deception and lies to reveal the truth. To follow her is to look after those who cannot look after themselves. Some pray to her for aid in the tracking and smiting of evil, others pray to her for someone to come and save them or show them charity in their time of need.Divine Relationships
Luna's allies include Khinarzi, good celestial creatures and she respects all other good deities. Luna's antithesis is The Dark One, as both of them represent opposing values, one of good and another of evil. This is reflected in the actions and attitudes of their followers The other deities of the plane have rather unknown relationships to the Goddess for neither side seems to interact with the other.Worshipping Luna
Luna’s name is often invoked by those seeking aid in either protection from the darkness or driving it out, from those in need of aid or saving from circumstances that would doom or oppress them. Many of her more devout followers amongst the clergy who go out to drive out the darkness and provide aid to others believing in the maxim “praying through one’s deeds”, by following the strictures of Luna in action is the purest form of worship. Luna’s actions and feelings are based on the four phases of the moon and based on this do her priesthood take up their roles. From the arbiters who like the full moon help ensure society keeps running when all is safe, helping keep the peace and arbitrating justice, and acting as trainers and teachers to the common peopel to better look after themselves. The marshals who like the waning moon ensure the holds and hamlets all have the supplies and defences prepared to stave off the darkness and fight off the forces of evil and in doing so ensuring the logistics and communications across Mystria are maintained, with many mistwalkers taking this role. The moonshields like the new moon protect against the forces of darkness, healing the injured and acting as a bulwark against their foes. The moonblades are like the waxing moon driving the forces of darkness out of the land, taking the fight to the enemy and exorcising the darkness from the areas they have corrupted.I call upon your name, O Lady of the Moon, and pray to uphold your sacred charge.

Holidays
Luna’s holy day is the Lunacrest, and is celebrated on the first new moon of the year and continues until the following full moon. The new moon is led by a darkening of the lights across the kingdom as all hold a time of mourning and of remembrance of those who ave been lost especially those who have been lost to the forces of darkness. It also features the rite of communion where the spirits of those lost in Luna’s name are said to sometimes return to speak once more with those who loved and remembered them. As such many seek in preparation to learn about those relatives lost before they were born that they be remembered and honoured by the receipt of this gift and not risk the spirit being scorned and becoming a vengeful undead. The ceremony ends with a massed celebration under the full moon with feasts and parties celebrating those living, who we cherish most and the communities we strive to protect as well as celebrating the lives who came before and remembering while death is a dark time for the fallen loyal to Luna the afterlife is a time of joy to which we the living should celebrate. What happens in between these events varies from settlement to settlement.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Luna aims to drive evil from the world and see those oppressed freed. She is also always seeking to stime the efforts of those who serve the Dark One and continue his war against the plane. Luna is ever watchful against the machinations of the forces of darkness, and never interferes in the affairs of mortal creatures unless her actions could also stop their evil schemes. However, when she confronts the darkness, she always takes the necessary actions to stop the spread of their dark influence and to undo whatever damage has been done.
