The Forging of the Lunablade & The Legend of Kia
Many myths give different origin tales of the Lunablade, from it being a gift of Khinarzi. Others say it was formed from the single tear of the moon, shed when Luna saw what remained and what was lost at the end of the First Shadowmarch, and many other stories besides.
But what is known is the blade was discovered by her first champion an Orc by the name of Kia. She was lost in the mists, of what would become known as the Kingdom of Mystria, exploring the never-ending woods looking for a home for her group. Kia came across a clearing clear of the mists. Before her lay a great mountain that perfectly framed the moon, its light beaming down upon the mountain and the clearing, and more specifically a gleaming blade whose blade was stabbed into the earth. Seeing this as a sign Kia took up the blade and meditated upon it in the clearing beneath the moonlight.
When next Kia was seen the mist seemed to part for her, she came before her people bearing the blade of the goddess Luna, the Lunablade. She said the goddess had shown her where they could build a settlement that would keep them safe from the monsters of the dark and allow them to grow their crops in peace. This settlement would be built around the mountain and clearing where the Lunablade was first found.
The settlement would be known as Solace and Kia as Luna's champion would unite the land of mists into the Kingdom of Mystria and Solace would become its capital. Under Kia's guidance the first Mistweavers would be trained, the greatest of their number would become her student, taught to be the next champion of Luna. Kia also donned the name Lightbringer and her line has since been the rulers of Mystria.
It is said early on during the unifying of Mystria, any leaders of the small settlements that formed Mystria's diverse populations had gathered to hear Kia speak as she called on them to unify. However this would soon be Interrupted for the Dark Lord sent one of his agents, a terrifying beast of Shadow and fur to slay Luna's champion. Their battle was indeed a climactic one it is said an acre of forest was felled in the fighting, the earth was torn up so much now a great lake rests on the battle site. Kia did defeat the monster in the end and the leaders after seeing the might of Luna's champion, her faith and valour and the divine protection Luna afforded them all, that they would follow her.
