The Dark One, The Foe of the World, The Great Nemesis, The First Dark Lord, The Herald of the First Shadowmarch
The tales of Charifintir are known by all on Khinarzi. Before his coming the plane was teeming with life given to it by the Dawn Pantheon. The races were raised up and it was at this time the first of the Godborn came to be. This was shattered with the coming of Charifintir, The Dark One, it is unknown where he came from but the consequences of his arrival would come to haunt the world forever.
His arrival was immediately destructive. When he arrived to the plane, he punched his fist into the ground, his shadowy magic spreading into the earth, where the darkness touched the land became dark and barren, forming the Shadowlands seen today. The flora and fauna corrupted as the shadows touched them, and with this he formed the first of the Legions of Darkness and performed the first Shadowmarch. The denizens of the plane were caught off guard, as were the gods. However soon they marshalled the life on the world teaching them how to defend themselves while at the same time going to confront The Dark One themselves.
The wars that followed fill a great many tomes alone but at the end of the conflict the Shadowmarch had been halted however many lives had been lost. As for the Dawn Pantheon they had been slain by The Dark One, though before he could return to alter the fate of the wider war, the goddess Luna and the world soul of Khinarzi, empowered by the essences of the fallen gods struck, they broke his injured body and caged his soul in his iron crown. Where this crown was taken is unknown but it would not be the end of the tale.
One of The Dark One’s generals a figure known only as the Dark Lord, survived the war and managed to find and secret away the iron crown of his liege, the forces of the world rallied to halt the ritual to restore him, the crown was destroyed and the Dark Lord seemingly banished, though he would return in the future.
