Umbar Crisis: Councilors

The Councilors are one of the four major factions in the Umbaric Succession Crisis. They wish to abolish Umbar's matriarchy altogether, as they feel it has lost its legitimacy over the centuries. In its place, they wish the Speaker that is already elected by the Council of Umbar be the leader of the entire city, rather than simply the voice of its legislature.

While their end goals are completely different, Speaker Wosa has posited that the Councilors merely desire to be an alternative if the missions to find Vraisos the Bright remain unsuccessful. The current status quo is a manifestation of this; the Council of Umbar remains as the main ruling body under the blessing of the Church of Light while treks into the Shifting Sands are ongoing.

The Councilors feel the position has overstayed its welcome, and that enabling the Speaker of the Council of Umbar the Radiant's powers would ensure stability within the city, both in the short term and the long term.
