Far-Flame

Modern writing systems nearly universally use the Humoh invented burning into waxy paper. Different flames and different papers can have different effects, such as hartey paper that creates thin burned edges or flames to burn colors into the paper rather than through, or change the attributes of the burn. However, people took the attributes of fire to another logical conclusion. mur has the movement attribute of blinking or teleportation, so could one not teleport a message somewhere else? Flame librarys have cropped up as a popular and cheap gathering place to pen far-flamed messages.

Mechanics

The premise of a far-flame is that it rapidly teleports between two or more locations, able to burn the same symbols in multiple papers. For example, if you are writing to a friend in another town, you can use a far-flame to teleport to a pre-designated location and while you write, it will teleport relative to its original position and burn the same letters into the paper.

Location

The setting of the location for the far flame is the most important thing to get right. To keep the flame in a space that the other paper is, there's often a Murn attached to a paper giving a signal that can be traced. Modern far-flames have contact lists that can latch to any other contact at any time, moving with the paper (older far-flames were required to be stationary).

Copies

Creating thousands of copies in multiple geographic locations, while expensive in the energy cost needed to keep the flame alight, is not commonplace for newspapers, greatly aiding the spread of information. Even scrying smoke pyramids often have a far-flame-linked paper attached to them. A far flame converts writing in one space and duplicates it somewhere else

Burning

Older far-flames burned permanent markings into papers, modern use a less abrasive fire and a specialized paper that leaves impermanent marks on pages that can save the page, erase the page, and more depending on the enchangments on the side of the page, with little symbols that, when pressed, will do that action.

Mass produced flame marked newspapers and newletters, or novels. Or military or intelligence communications. Is it secure? Could it be diverted somehow?

Hadn't thought about that. It probably could be diverted, but not between the two locations. Teleportation is instantaneous where one object is removed from existence in one place (existence collapses in on itself where it was) and appears somewhere else (pushes out from a finite point unostentatiously). So there wouldn't be any intervention between the two points. However, the disturbances in the physical world leave a ripple effect that potentially could be either manipulated or tapped.
