Flame Library

Many Far-Flame and information on where one can send a far flame to before writing. Modern. Does not burn, instead making impermanent markings. Individuals can have devices, but the center provides them at greatly reduced costs.

Purpose

Flame libraries cropped up soon after the initial invention of the far-flame. The creation of a stable far-flame was not cheap, so people lent them in contained spaces. These spaces, too, meant that contacts with other flame libraries would be an easy service. Most people didn't have the means to purchase a far-flame let alone the nearly required contact murn. So a place where you could go to write messages to one or more places that were accessible to everyone was sure to catch on.

The buildings are full of desks, public and private, and each has a paper and far flame for use. Some include phones to call people to let them know they will be sending a letter or document. Sometimes, voice was not enough, and especially legal-written documents, flame libraries attracted quite a bit of the business crowd. And, if one wanted to send a letter, a far-flame would be measurably faster.

Payment would be per-page as the flame library would provide any kind of paper to use when communicating. One would have to pay for both the paper they use in the library and, if they message another library, the paper there. Modern papers have erasable burns, and the pay-by-page system persists. Some have transitioned to pay-by-time, though it's not as popular a payment method.

A Place to Gather

With the growth of flame libraries and the change in times, many have adopted the sale of alternative goods. They grew an audience as a place to gather, for people to communicate in a social setting with not just those far away, but those close by. To entice more people to come to the flame-libraries, many started selling teas, coffees, sweet-melts, and more beverages alongside cakes, sweets, pastries, and fruits are served. Spilling isn't an issue ad the message will not transfer any harm done to the paper. Flame Library papers are purposefully spill-resistant.

Friends would gather to send a group message to another group, family members would connect with distant relatives on an outing, and some people come to talk to random people in a far-flame section to connect with random individuals. One of the most ostentatious and fund additions flame libraries have added is the public message boards. Gone were the days when delver were limited to what people brought to town, gigs could be found on a public board just for them. But public message boards are for more purposes, some are for people to write anything on the board that will be displayed in multiple locations.

As a small note, the "library" portion of the name is not only from the documentation made in the area, but because many libraries expanded their use case to include far-flames.
