Caercalvan Castle
A castle belonging to House Caervil on an island south of the mainland. It is one of the Ducal residences and often used as a safe retreat during times of war.
While there were always watchtowers and fortified locations on the island, it was during the reign of Duke Seldemar of House Caervil that construction on this larger castle was completed. It was created to be a safe place for the ruling family should there arise a need for greater security during times of conflict. During the Troll Rise for instance, Meramund Duke of House Caervil spent much of his time there surrounded by his Eagle-Helms and other warriors, only returning to Novryk when the danger was thought to have diminished.
