Novryk
The capital city of Caervil and the seat of House Caervil
This was the first settlement founded by the first arrivals in this land. At first it was a landing point and a small settlement, but it has grown much since then, and never stopped growing and being changed. The first wooden walls gave way to stone, and then the settlement grew beyond the stone walls and northward and eastward. More walls and a citadel were built for its protection and roads were laid to other towns - those same roads then being built along and becoming hamlets in their own regard. In time the gaps between those hamlets were also filled up with new buildings until they became one great city in truth.
Now Novryk's original centre is the great shipyard of Caervil, with the citadel in its own walled and fortified quarter overlooking. Three other large districts of the city extend from that original heart, each walled and with its own strong gates. Even beyond the walls there are neighbourhoods, markets and dwelling places.
The lands beyond the city are fertile and well kept, being farmed for the produce required to keep the city fed and thriving, with enough surplus to form a basis for trade. Caervil is rivalled only by Greendale for its lush and fertile lands.

Districts
The Founding
The oldest district of the city where the first settlers made their homes. Despite that, it is not a place of high honour or wealth and has been levelled and rebuilt more than once, with the wealthier and more noble inhabitants moving out and nearer to the citadel once that was built. The Founding is now a maze of narrow streets and overcrowded dwelling places. It is not quite a slum but very nearly.Silverward
To the south of Silverward are the larger houses and open streets of the wealthy and the aspiring wealthy. The north of Silverward is where the merchant-captains and their rich clients conduct their businesses, and where they have their residences.Waterway
The inhabitants of Waterway tend to be skilled artisans – mostly carpenters and those working in the shipyards in a variety of trades. They are proud of their skills and valued for them, and this area is well kept and relatively law-abiding.Meddenard
An area of mixed flavours ranging from dilapidated and run down housing on the northern edges, to decent quality accommodation nearer the city wall to the east. In one of the large open squares is the Golden Gull, a successful theatre where many productions of historical dramas, tragedies and comedies are performedNyrin Fields
It used to be a field, a long time ago, through which the main westerly road ran. As Novryk expanded however it was inevitable that it would become a new area of building. Along the existing road are many taverns, shops and other services for travellers. Further away from the road to either side one finds crowded streets and poverty. The watch pay more attention to Nyrin Fields than to the Founding because nobody cares about the people in the Founding whereas some of the people passing through Nyrin Fields have money and influence- The Oxmill is a combination tavern & bath-house that was an unremarkable but hospitable location in Nyrin Fields. It offers warm, clean water and soap for travellers to enjoy, and good food and drink. It also offeres a regular poem competition where people can perform their creations. Recently it has become the meeting place of the Clear Skies movement, a pro-Caervil group objecting to the presence and influence of Malmor officials and troops in Novryk.
