The previous King of Whirlan, Rendorik was considered one of the best leaders in the world before his untimely death at the hands of assassins.

Personal history

King Rendorik was born to King Reuben and Queen Michela of Whirlan in 2020. His parents loved him but focused mostly on ruling their kingdom and keeping their alliances with Crystland and Tierhal. Four years after Rendorik was born, his parents had a daughter, Cassandra. Rendorik loved her and always tried to protect her. He manifested as a Destructor when he was seven. Although he learned how to control his power rather quickly, he often had difficulty restraining it.
Between his studies and hobbies, Rendorik always managed to spend time with his sister, who had awful nightmares and was eventually revealed as a Seer. Cassandra began having visions about Rendorik, but Rendorik tried to convince her they were unfounded and wouldn't happen. His parents soon arranged marriage for him with Lavinia Niorsa, the daughter of two powerful nobles. After their wedding, Rendorik and Lavinia fell in love.
Cassandra was married to Izaiah Issachar, a young noble whose parents disagreed with the king and queen, in 2040. She moved away, and Rendorik soon noticed that his parents, while popular with many nobles, had neglected the rest of their people. Shortly after Lavinia told him she was pregnant, the king and queen were poisoned by a servant. Rendorik and Lavinia took the throne and their daughter, Laharika Calleron, was born in June.
Rendorik ruled wisely with his wife. Their people loved him. He had a good relationship with the rulers of Crystland and began to look into the restrictions on several types of Gifted Powers, especially Storming. Laharika grew into a brave little girl who manifested Aquacity at the age of five. An accident at Laharika's seventh birthday celebration caused extreme tension between Tierhal and Crystland, with Rendorik and Whirlan caught in the middle.
As Laharika's power continued to grow stronger, Rendorik and Lavinia sought research that might help her control it. He contacted a Tierhalan noble by the name of Joachim Parthises, who had done many studies about Gifted powers. Shortly before a meeting with the middleman, Lord Ephraim of Nicenae, Rendorik and Lavinia threw a small party with several nobles. During the party, a group of rebels broke into the palace with the help of soldiers from the country of Dalirn and massacred nearly everyone in the palace. Rendorik was killed in the fight, along with his wife, and Dalirn took over the kingdom.

He died before he had any more children, as well as before his daughter was married, ruling out a relationship with in-laws and grandchildren.
