From Silent Waters

From silent waters do we rise/
Our cradle shaped by gods/
And against all odds/
Here is still where my home lies/
  Nature's wise magic all around/
And deep within me to be found/
The dawn illuminates the skies/
  And all is one/
The wind is carrying my voice/
My flaming heart makes me rejoice/
I stand steady on this earth/
And in water is rebirth/
  My doubts are gone/
To see, to learn, to recollect/
What is, what was, what will/
I am standing still/
Take in the world and then reflect/
And when my time is over here/
I never truly need to fear/
The sun and water will connect/
  And all is one/
The wind is carrying my voice/
My flaming heart makes me rejoice/
I stand steady on this earth/
And in water is rebirth/
  My fears are gone/
All living things have time and end/
But never disappear/
Just retreat to clear/
A long-lived soul needs space to mend/
But the night will come and go/
And with another morning's glow/
Once more we wake and then ascend/
  And all is one/
The wind is carrying my wings/
I'm breathing flames and my heart sings/
My will alone commands the earth/
And in water is rebirth/
  My pain is gone/

"From Silent Waters" is a religious song featured in Aman's Teachings, describing roughly a Nyr's cycle of life. It's not absolutely clear when the song was first written or conceptualized. Going by the themes it covers (the silent waters as realm of the gods and resting place of souls before rebirth, the deeply magical nature of Ivendarea and its connection to all living beings, as well as hints of taking a dragon's form) suggest that this final version was written later during Aman's travels, or potentially even afterwards, when they had returned to Maan Garth to reflect on their experiences.
