Carieach & Llwyfan Appraisals Inc
You expect me to witness this ornament of yours? Pay the appraiser's fee, if you would, and I would be happy to do so.Busy trading towns and cities - like Geueil - are full of scammers and opportunists who will take any opportunity to make a quick buck. They forge artworks, pass off modern recreations as antique, and replace gemstones with glass. These con artists are the bane of any legitimate businessman's existence and a great pain to many of the commonfolk, and their prevalence in Geueil especially was what inspired Rhys Carieach and Gwenith Llwyfan to start up a business dedicated to identifying and accurately appraising.. just about everything they could. Whilst the idea was far from novel, the human and halfling business partners were already deeply embedded into the community of Geueil, and it didn't hurt that both were married to major businesspeople: Rhys's husband claimed an owner's share in three of the city's largest businesses, and Gwenith's worked for Ennian's duke as one of the chief officers in inspecting and impounding incoming goods. With the advertising their respective partners gave them and their own drive to spread the word, Carieach & Llwyfan Appraisals was soon a name heard in the halls of every major marketplace and manufactury across the city. Having recently celebrated their 300th anniversary, it is safe to say that the legacy of Rhys Carieach & Gwenith Llwyfan has lived on and thrived in their absence. Their descendants continue to have controlling stakes in the business, and Rhedyn Carieach currently runs day-to-day operations in Geueil, but the company has expanded far beyond the boundaries of two friends.
We stand for fairness and history. We will not misrepresent the past, present, or future.Appraisals done by Carieach & Llwyfan are serious, and are taken seriously. The public knows this, and knows the rough process of an appraisal. Initial inspections include a condition report and a magical scan, as well as analysis of any magical properties that appear. They are mandatory reporters to the Aletheian Empire and will report magical items imported illegaly into Geueil, despite not being importers themselves. From there, an analysis of time period and quality occurs, and the final appraisal is decided on over the course of a few hours. Though not everyone is always pleased with the outcome they receive, the business does receive more good reviews than bad.
Accurate Appraisals at Reasonable Cost
Carieach & Llwyfan Appraisals helped me determine that my grandmother had, in fact, stolen the jewels off the noble who tried to seduce her. Ha! Take that, great-grandma!
I can't believe he got me a fake engagement ring. Star docked for the clerk's attitude - laughing at how obvious the fake was did NOT help my mood and I did NOT appreciate it.
