The Exitium Somnus, also known as the Awakeners are a religious cult within Isidoro. The cult believes that the god of destruction and lethargy, Devaziti should be woken up from his nigh eternal slumber and be unleashed upon the world. They sew discord wherever their small pockets of members pop up.

Culture

The concept of being a member of the Exitium Somnus is to live life to the fullest; that their time on this planet is limited and precious, but to not be bound by the constraints of society. It is often encouraged to be impulsive and to make decisions on gut feelings. However, they don't encourage naivety--The idea of consequences is not lost on them.
They are not blind to the risks this lifestyle can lead to, and will often aid younger members who often struggle to adapt to learning which societal limitations can be ignored.

Mythology & Lore

The core mythos behind the Exitium Somnus is the creation myth of Isidoro itself. While Devishtari began the creation of Isidoro, Devaziti's destructive and wild magics also aided in creating the world as it is. He used so much energy, that he fell into a deep slumber that even now he is in.
While others attempt to appease him after natural disasters, the cult is known for having loud ceremonies to wake him fully.

"You think we're bad people because of what we believe, don't you child." The only man in the room wearing something that fully covered his face turned toward the young boy who had managed to wander into their meeting site. A building ravished by time, overtaken by roots and holes within its roof. Rays of light from the setting sun shone off the material of his off-white mask. "I see how you look at us."

"You want him to end the world!" the human countered, his blue eyes wide in worry as he saw others shift forward, silk veils shimmering as they moved.
"We want him to take us on the next steps of our journey...." A fae with auburn hair murmured, her hands clasped in front of her. "But to take all of us there, he must first be awakened. Come, sit with us and listen." She stood beside the man in the mask, and he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Come learn."
