PDRMN Enlisted

An enlisted member of the Navy of the PDRM is not an untrained grunt, even the ground-pounding PDRMNEC Light Infantry members must perform 20 weeks of training, and they have the lightest individual role training of only 10 weeks. The grunts onboard ships have far more extensive training, followed by a stint on one of the training fleets, so that by the time they are properly ready to go they will have at least a year of training behind them. With the longevity of the personell, the interesting nature of the work, and the relativly cushy nature of those positions, some enlisted members have been around for a very long time, refusing to be budged into the PDRMN Officer Corp.

Career

Qualifications

A good sound head on their shoulders, a clean bill of health (or at least a cleanable bill), and not a member of a foreign power. After that just the basic training followed by individual role training and they are all set.

Career Progression

Most will spend a tour of duty on a ship in the PDRMN Logistics Fleet or the PDRMN Trade Fleet, after which they will move onto ships in the more common PDRMN Home Fleet and PDRMN Opposition Fleet. From there they will move where they want and there is space, with some going off to the PDRMN External Fleet, while others return to the training fleets to provide teaching. Throughout this time most will rise up the ranks, some becoming NCOs.

25000 MD per annum based on rank and years of service.

Perception

Purpose

They are the experts, the hands, the eyes and ears of the PDRMN, fixing things, performing their tasks in the background while the officers do their thing. The grease that keeps the cogs of the PDRMN turning.

Social Status

Pretty neutral, but if a former grunt is looking for a job it isnt that bad, PDRMN training is well respected.
