Noticeably Unsettling
The forests around Feyport are naturally magical, but with the dark events happening in the town, that magic is being corrupted and twisted into something terrible. Much like the town, there is a noticeable rodent problem. Flocks of bats are out even during the day, and rats are numerous. As eerily dark as it is during the day, it takes on another form at night. The shadows grow deeper and thicker, stretching upwards into vaguely humanoid shapes, glaring white eyes and sneers looking back at you. Will-o'-wisps can be seen in certain areas of the forest in abnormally large quantities. The 'monster,' however, was just a poor young man that happened to be tricked by a fey and was fighting off shadows that were trying to devour him. Finmiel told the group he was tricked by a fey boy with black curly hair to meet them in the woods with an old family heirloom. They had promised him that with said heirloom they could bring back his family. When he showed up with it, they shook hands with him and smiled, then the next thing he knew he was in darkness and pain before being rescued. They didn't take the heirloom, oddly enough. He gave it to the group, deciding once and for all to just pack up and leave.
Someone's Watching
After being followed for some time and never catching them, the perpetrator revealed itself. A tall and impossibly slender creature made entirely of plant has been following the group around curiously, almost as a duckling follows its mother. What little speech it can mimic at the moment is used to try to communicate, but sometimes it can only manage simple 'yes' or 'no's. It seems to avoid the city, preferring to watch the group from a distance and rejoin them upon entering the forest. How it knows where to be to join them though is a mystery, as are many things about
Llyr’adaewyn.
