The Scarred Mountains
The Scarred Mountains refers to a mountainous region in the Somber Lands comprised of molten crags and towers of brimstone that seep with the molten energy of the world's very core.
The Scarred Mountains are in the center of the Somber Lands, surrounding the Ashen Valley. The areas around the mountains themselves are cracked and blackened by the fire that bursts from the ground, and are prone to the creation of small natural pools of lava with the shifting of the ground and any outside disturbance. The mountains are spindly and towering, often formed not from rock but from the fossilized creation of molten fire surrounding rock and solidifying over time.
The foot of The Scarred Mountains is dotted with Fire and Earth drills that were utilized by larger cities like Gavland. In the years following the Malignancy, the drills have been left to become rusted monuments to the time before the end of the world.
