Keldsex
Keldsex is an isolated city that is most well known for it's substantial opportunities for iron mining. Families have settled in the city for centuries with the promise of work and fortune in the untapped miles of cavernous mountains.
Notable Landmarks
Cithreth Crescent is a tree lined road with a small island in the middle where a large dead tree sits. It's named after a woman called Cithreth who died only a month after meeting her soulmate, who petitioned the mayor for the naming. The large, barren city square is blanketed on all sides by various shops, but remains empty at it's centre barring a large statue of a reindeer. The dark cobblestones are rarely salted to keep the ice at bay so inhabitants only travel around the sides where the heat of buildings has made it easier to traverse. Hidden in a side street directly off of the square is Symma's Wynd, an upmarket brothel mostly utilised by the Incubus population in the city. The dockyard sits on the outskirts of the city and only becomes busy in the two months of summer that the river unfreezes. At all other times the buildings there are used as storage for the city in the harsher winter months. A ruin of a long forgotten castle sits on a hill overlooking most of the city. It's broken walls are mostly frequented by youthful demons seeking a hidden gem to cavort with lovers. A tavern, The Bloody Rib, exclusively sells reindeer meat in every dish they sell and is quite famous in the Citadel Territory for it. King Lucan is even said to have loved the food he ate there.Demographics
Gargoyles, Minotaurs and Hellspawn make up most of the population of Keldsex. There are only a few wealthy families in the city and they seemingly own all of the profitable land.
Government
The city is run by an elected mayor who rules for their entire immortal life, however long or short that may be. The laws they enforce are ones that every settlement in Citadel Territory must abide by.
Defences
Since Keldsex is so protected by the climate and positioning in the Cloud Mountains, there are little to no defences besides a tall wooden stake fence that runs along the river border.
Industry & Trade
Most able-bodied inhabitants of Keldsex on a mid to low income work in the iron mines outside of the city. Others work rearing reindeer for meat and transportation. When the river flows in the summer, barges carry these resources to Evermoore Fort and Tormalden to sell.
Geography
Keldsex is located beside a perpetually frozen river where the vegetation is desolate. The city is hugged on all other sides by arctic mountains.
Climate
Like all settlements located in the Cloud Mountains, Keldsex is in a constant state of winter. Blizzards and snowfall are commonplace. In summer the river melts for two months.
Natural Resources
Iron ore is found in the mountains surrounding the city.
