Bloodvine
Expo Raid: Encounter Report
During the raid, we discovered a new species we can only describe as ferocious and deadly. They are of a new fauna-type we have never encountered. A combination between animal and plant. We suggest to call these types "Phytozoa"
Encountering a Bloodvine
We encountered the Bloodvines in groups. They almost exclusively operate as a collective because of their slow movement and try to tear their opponents to shreds, sucking their blood dry to nurture their vines.A Foggy Location
The raids where we first came into contact with Bloodvines was just south of Fort Expo, where the Expo Raids take place. Since then, we found them further into the western front, as well as in the already thought to be liberated Expo-Peak. Because of the multiple sightings, we determine that Bloodvines are actually common encounters in the forests of the Fog.Fighting against Bloodvines
Bloodvines have natural thorn armor and can't be defeated in hand-to-hand combat. Although they move every slowly, when stationary, they are extremely quick with their attacks. Bites, needleshots and whips are to be expected, and while one attack at a time is nothing one couldn't handle, their strength comes in numbers. We recommend either battling them from afar or with heavy hitting weaponry and thick armor. Even the quickest of Slaughterers can and will be grazed by a binding vine, sealing their death.Nourishment
Once captured, dead or alive, Bloodvines will suck the bodies of their victims dry, gaining a temporary boost in physical prowess. Empowered Bloodvines can be identified by their reddisch-turned vines and thorns, as well as their menacing laugh, after finishing their feast.Tunnel Systems
Bloodvines move through digging undergrtound tunnels and speezing through them. This makes them very elusive, yet slow, especially in locations where no tunnels are dug yet. We encourage the Soulweavers to equip some sort of Scanning-Trinket to identify the underground systems and lure their enemies to adequate spots.
