Oil Impressionism - The Lord Looking Down - Cleris Dumont 841 AP
One of the original 12 White Lord statues given to the Queen on the Day of Purification by the Lord of Light himself. Each one cries tears of pure essence for those deemed worthy. Old legend says if someone can strike a divine with enough force to damage it, they'll be rewarded by the White Lord himself who will appear and grant one wish. Eight and half centuries later and still nobody has left even a scratch on a divine. Proving the White Lord has no intention of handing out free wishes.

A Divine's Importance:
The Divines constantly produce an infinitesimal yet highly concentrated quantity of essence that floats up into the sky and then returns in the form of a fine mist that covers hundreds of square miles. This mist is then collected by individuals either in their hats or clothes and then placed inside an Essence coin using an Essence Collecting Machines. The Divine's throughout Tenglan:
Over the years the Queen has given a divine to cities that grow to a certain size whilst focusing on the prosperity of the citizens.4 Divines located within Imperias City:
- The One Divine, seen as the greatest of all Divines, and several times the size of the other statues can be found at the entrance gates to Imperias City.
- A Divine stands atop the The Ganay Tree.
- A third divine is found in the battle balt arena located next to the Queen's palace. Currently, used by King Johan Ganay for the All Race League.
- The fourth divine is held in a secret location somewhere in Imperias City. Some believe Cravus uses it for his Imperial League championship bouts but Wizard created divines are virtually indistinguishable from the originals so nobody knows for certain.
This is the final divine the Queen hopes to give as a reward. Several large towns have requested city status to receive this Lord's statue. But the Queen has refused them all, most likely because none of these towns have a sacred shiner tree.
The Locations of the Remaining 8 Divines:
The rest are located outside Imperias City, and rewarded once a town gains city status. Each one was placed on top of the cities respective shiner trees.- Drinden City: The first city to receive a Divine under the era of King Clement De Raine. It was located on top of the shiner tree dedicated in Raine's name.
- Pralis City: Following Drinden, a Divine was sent to Pralis City. They placed it on top of the shiner tree dedicated to their first mayor. Prast.
- Giral City: The third town to be granted city status under Filloch's reign. It was placed on top of their shiner tree dedicated in Filloch's name.
- Claymore: Received city status also under King Filloch's reign.
- Tost: Received city status under King Selistene Durek. The divine was placed on a shiner dedicated to Durek.
- Ekri: Received city status under King Selistene Durek's Reign. They dedicated the name of the Shiner to the first balter from Ekri who won the Imperial league title. Sethastus.
- Sky: Received city status under King Blake Trevestus. They dedicated the shiner holing the Divine in Trevestus's name.
- Gete: Received city status under King Cranough Tireste. They dedicated the shiner holding the Divine in Tireste's name.
Fake Divines:
These are statues found throughout Tenglan with an identical appearance to the divines but have no essence giving properties. Some fakes have been infused with Wizard magic, so they move and function similar to true divines. Many Battle Balt arenas have a fake divine at the entrance.Written by Ricardo Butler
