Geo City
A man-made island just off the coast of Connecticut, Geo City is the pinnacle of scientific achievement and endeavor, a realization of the dream of a City of the Future. The entire city was secretly built directly on top of an alien crash site.
The city has 88 districts, divided into the shape of a K8 Complete Graph (an octagon where each vertex connects directly to every other vertex) within a circle, and another circle composing the center. At the corner of each district is a colossal structural support pillar over half a kilometer in diameter and over 100 meters tall, 64 in total. Each pillar consists of 48 smaller pillars, each built from 12 steel disks just over half a kilometer in diameter.
Due to the systemic and repetitive nature of this structural support system, many have advocated for Geo City to be the basis of any colonies mankind may develop should they choose to colonize and terraform any other planets, as the structural components are easy to mass-produce.
