While stories like Roswell and Area 51 are completely urban legend, there is always a speck of truth behind the myth. A spaceship did crash onto Earth, but just off the coast of Connecticut, and well before the dawn of man. Almost immediately after the crashed ship was discovered in 1958, plans were unveiled for the construction of an entire city to be built on a man-made island at the exact same coordinates.
Once the city had completed construction over a decade and a half later, scientist Mike Gold was one of many to investigate the wreckage and what remained of the corpses. By experimenting with the samples he obtained from the alien corpses, he was able to reverse engineer a chemical compound that became known as the MG Formula, the secret to unlocking superhuman abilities.
