Talira (a.k.a. Doctor Enigma)
Talira, mostly known as her alias Doctor Enigma, is the Supervillain and Evil Overlord of
Grimham. Her Damsel is Octavia Morgan and her rival is the Hero Galatic Gloom, though the two seem to share a somewhat friendlier relationship than is expected between Heroes and Villains.
Talira's past is unknown, though most assume she must have been some sort of scientist. This is partly because of her Villain sub-type being that of a Mad Scientist and partly because of her strange appearance. It is generally agreed that she was likely attempting to transform some creature into something akin to a dinosaur, only it backfired on her and made her into what she is today.
It is unknown if she has the
Powered Mutation or if she is simply highly intelligent and any enhanced abilities beyond that came to her because of the failed experiment to make her what she is now.
Attempts to interview her have largely failed to gain any information that would answer these questions.
Physical Description
Talira has long ears that move with her emotional state and have glowing purple inner ears. Her hips are wide and lead to sturdy digitigrade legs with clawed feet, not unlike what one would think of when picturing a dinosaur's feet. She also has a long, thick tail that moves fluidly to keep her balanced. Another abnormality is that she has four arms. Her skin is completely covered in scales other than on the insides of her ears.
She does not appear to have a nose. Her mouth is invisible unless opened, at which point you will see both that she has two rows of sharp teeth and that the inner flesh of her mouth and her tongue are also a glowing purple.
Enhanced strength, regenerative abilities beyond what is typically seen in Powered individuals, enhanced brain power and cognition, enhanced endurance, and the ability to jump seven feet vertically from a standstill.
When not in costume, Talira wears custom torn jeans, custom tank tops with her favourite bands' logos bleached onto them, and spiky jackets.
When in costume, Doctor Enigma wears a black lab coat that flares out around her hips to reveal a glowing green inner lining, sleek purple leather pants, gloves that reach her elbows, and large glowing green goggles.
Mental characteristics
Talira was raised in a lab undergoing treatment that could easily be described as torture. When she was 16 she was able to escape the lab and that city. When she was 17 she began her career in Villainy. When she was 18 she kidnapped Octavia Morgan and was charmed enough by her to keep her as her official Damsel.
Talira had been assumed to be female when she was a child.
When she went through puberty, she discovered that she is actually physically male. After having a crisis about what this meant for her, Talira came to the conclusion that her biology didn't have to have any bearing on her gender if she didn't want it to and continued to identify as female.
Talira doesn't have a particular interest one way or the other in claiming a specific label for her sexuality, but she is only interested in women and will sometimes refer to herself as a lesbian.
Talira is completely self-taught, having recieved no formal education.
History
Their first meeting was as the Galactic Gloom and Doctor Enigma. They became rivals as Hero and Villain and eventually Hero and Supervillain. When Enigma kidnapped the half of Octavia who was acting as a civilian, she became the Damsel as well as the Hero, to the knowledge of almost no one. Talira is not in on the fact that Gloom and Octavia are one and the same.
Despite their relationship being one that ought to put them at odds, Octavia realized fairly quickly that Enigma is not truly a threat to Grimham. The two continue to work in their roles, but they both view it as something like a friendly game between them.
In 2027 Doctor Enigma attacked the Heroes' Gala for reasons unknown, killing many, including Octavia.

History
Rosa found Talira when she was homeless and terrified. She took the strange teenager in and raised her as her own as best she could. Their adoptive mother-daughter bond is largely unspoken, but very real.
