The 21st century in Helerin was tumultuous, especially in Remon, where the throne changed hands multiple times due to deaths and assassinations. The instability highlighted the fragility of power in the region.
Meanwhile, in Teros, Sharad II's ill-fated invasion of Mar Mabon at the century's end resulted in a disastrous defeat, marking a significant blow to Teros' military ambitions and destabilizing the realm's political landscape as the new century approached.

• Girin V of Remon is murdered (age 34) by the raider Varn Borrallon who seizes the throne (age 47).
• Valran IV of Teros dies (age 61) and is succeeded by his daughter Thavis.

2003

• The Battle of the Temple: Varn Borrallon, the usurper king of Remon is killed (age 48) when the Knights of Piatok storm the Temple of Piatok in Harsann. The rightful heir, Fyntin is crowned king (age 3).

• Death of Rynn II, former king of Remon (age 63).

• Birth of Revannon of Teros.

• Birth of Jinar III, younger brother of Revannon, and later king of Teros.
