Gyongseong-Do

The Gyongseong Province [Yashidal: Gyongseong-Do] is one of the largest provinces in Yashida and as the most northern region, it became the gateway to Yashida and the Golden Sea for North Ganaesa after the Unification Wars. The Bailong, longest of the Yashidal rivers and main trade route of the country, has its spring in the Danghan Mountains of Gyongseong-Do.   Gyongseong-Do, with Manhae-Do a close second, is probably the most multicultural Yashidal province, due to the trading hotspot of the port city and Yashidal capital Gyongseong that also is host to the renowned National Library, the Royal Music Academy, the Yashidal Science Association, and the National School of the Arts. Yet, the capital and its province isn't enjoyed purely by the academically motivated - Gyongseong is the largest city in the country and deemed as "the city that never sleeps" or "carnival city" as the gastronomy and entertainment industry have spread throughout almost all of the city's quarters and however late at night or early in the morning, there will always be a tea house that welcomes yet another soul.

Geography

Gyongseong-Do has three external natural borders: the Samag Desert in the North, the Danghan Mountains in the West and the Dongbu Mountains that tail down the entire East-Yashidal border. While the Gyongseong Province lies between two major mountain ranges, the biggest part of its landscape is dominated by grasslands and gentle hills with most of Yashidal vineyards and grain fields.
The most prominent river is the Bailong River that originates from the Danghan Mountains and partly works as divide to the Suyuan Province in the South. Since the Bailong runs down the complete length of Yashida to the Golden Sea, it is also one of the major trading routes as it connects the Southern Ganaesean continent with the North quite comfortably.

Climate

As the province borders the northern desert, the climate is mostly dry throughout the year with most rainfall occuring in the middle of summer during Yashidal monsoon season, with the Southwest being most affected by it. It is also the hottest region within the country, with summer days that regularly reach over 35° and occasionally about 40° in the day, though temperatures can drop to 10° at night especially in late spring and early autumn. While the mountains do see regular snow in the winter months, most of the province doesn't have temperatures that drop below 5° in the day.

Natural Resources

Gyongseong-Do is mostly known for its hot and rather dry summers in the north, so most produced crops are grains, grapes and olives. Goat herds also populate the landscape together with date and pomegranate trees. The southern part that connects to Suyuan has a slightly more tropical climate and is prone to regular floodings in the middle of summer.
