The Maerhorn Building / Landmark in Glass Immortals | World Anvil

The Maerhorn

The Maerhorn is the squat, central fortress of the Assembly District. Unlike the exquisite architecture of the rest of the district's government buildings, the Maerhorn has thick, unadorned walls, covered bridges, murder holes, portcullises, a killing room, and dungeons. The Inner Assembly holds their private audiences inside.   STORY   Demir Grappo goes to the Maerhorn to meet with the Inner Assembly when they command him to take the reigns of the military after General Stavri's assassination. He is escorted inside by a contingent of Cinders and wears a piece of skyglass to calm his nerves as he enters the intimidating building.   After Demir's public duel with Capric Vorcien, the Cinders arrest him and hold in him a cell deep inside the Maerhorn for three days. They release him for his second audience with the Inner Assembly, who press him into an arranged engagement with Kissandra Vorcien as punishment for his public afront against the Vorcien guild-family. Luckily, Demir leaves the Maerhorn without letting Father Vorcien get the deal in writing.
