Drembari Isles
The Drembari Isles are a league of island states, formed in a treaty that codified a shared interest in commercial, spiritual, and defensive matters, along with a desire to work together as a single political entity.
The Seven States of the Isles
Structure
The Drembari Isles is a confederated league of seven states, each with their own appointed Waterspeaker, who speaks on behalf of the state in the Gathering.
Culture
Bari culture is not a monolith--each island carries its own traditions and social expectations. Generally speaking, however, reverence for The Vast is common throughout all seven states.
Public Agenda
History
Although the Isles themselves have been populated by the Bari since at least 700 UE, The Drembari Isles as a political organization was created with the Treaty of Awa in 877 AC. This treaty affirmed the desire and expectation of all seven sovereign states within the Isles to work together to foster a more unified front against foreign threats, as well as to inculcate robust trade among the Bari.
Most historians consider this the first time the disparate islands have come together as a single political entity, although much knowledge about the Unknown Era has been lost.

Trade & Transport
While most Bari prefer to trade in coin, especially gold, there are some who stick to the "old ways," and honor their ancestors through valuing only the rib bones of the Asakori Whale as currency.
