Turin

Turin is a rough and rowdy port town located on the easternmost edge of the Ivorian Heathlands. The town is built atop a tall cliff, with a bustling port located at its base and a city perched atop the rocks. Turin is home to many sailors, thieves, and miscreants, and it is a place where the law is often overlooked and the strong survive. The port of Turin is massive, with room for hundreds of large galleons and smaller vessels. It is accessible via a series of wooden boardwalks and carved rock paths that lead down to the cliff's bottom. The town itself is a chaotic, crowded place, with a large marketplace where all manner of goods are bought and sold. Beyond the marketplace lies the residential area, where shanty houses are crammed tightly together. The air in Turin is salty, and the constant smell of fish from the marketplace is inescapable.   Province Capital     Influence Level: 34   Leader: ???   Title: ???   Faction: ???   Disposition: ???   Alliance: ???   Allies: ???   Enemies: ???   Religion: ???   Wealth: ???   Resources: ???   Military: ???   Ambitions: ???   Family: ???   Secrets: ???     The rugged old town of Turin was once a grand marketplace but over the town's shady history it has become a nest of migrants and pirates. The towns main road cuts through the large marketplace where all trading and under-the-table dealings occur. The town is protected by large stone walls on all sides except where the town meets the cliffs edge. Looking out over the Great Sea. Turin has stone-etched steps carved into the cliff so the sailors and fishermen can reach the docks. People travel from all across the land telling riveting tales of the elves and other fantastical creatures that live across the realm. The lawmen of the town have become easily corruptible and little rule is still upheld. Most people make their living as either swindlers, thieves, brawlers or extortionists. The children who have grown up here think that their simple human ways of living are all that there is and most have no intention of leaving their hometown. Most of the magical creatures live far from the province of the Eastern Coast so some children don't believe the stories told by the travelling gypsies. Past the marketplace lies the residential area where the shanty houses do their best to stand up to the brisk, wet winds of the coastal climate. The shanty's have no yards and neighbours homes are crammed tight together. The air tastes salty and the constant smell of fish from the marketplace has become a staple of this bustling town. Few good people live within the Turin walls but many awful people do, and the few never stand up against the many. The rusted walls of the buildings are starting to wear away, causing rusty holes in the homes, the constant ocean mist gives no help to the poor structures of Turin. When you are in the city all you can hear is the marketplace; swindlers yelling about the best deal while customers yell back about the outrageous prices, no one is ever content. This town is past the point of return and has become so corrupt that not even the soldiers obey the law. The cobblestone road continues in a a spiralling manner towards the fighting grounds, a bloodstained fighting pit where professional fighters battle it out to win the match payout. Many men have died here trying to bring money home doing the only thing they knew how, and that is fight for their life. The largest building is the town hall, a white building with golden mermaid statues guarding the front gate. The windows are cracked and the paint is scarred, what used to be a pristine manor has turned into the town pub. The mayor is rarely seen even though he lives up on the second floor. The supposed leader of the town has let his home be defeated by the elements; the foundation is starting to erode away with the coastline, the moss grows over all of the walls and the shingles from the roof have blown away with the gusts. Turin has a brown and yellow hue to all of it's buildings, the vibrant colours have long faded. Any spirit left in the town died when the corruption crept in.   Turin Dresdon Province Ivoria Terra Elf Church of Dhara 30558 25 capital port
