Arturus Windslayer, at age 50, was the strongest and most formidable of Berold’s children. Trained from an early age in combat, he decisively defeated his siblings in the Contest of Challenge. He defeated his brother Otto, who yielded, knowing he could not defeat Arturus. The oldest brother and Moot Electorate Kasper would not yield, feeling he must not surrender as the eldest son of his late father. This led to Arturus needing to kill his older brother so he could claim the throne of their father. His victory in 436 BHM secured him the Eastking title, and he quickly set about reinforcing Ivoria's defences. Known for his firm hand and strategic mind, Arturus ruled for 40 years, seeing both prosperity and conflict. The birth of his twins, Berend and Heleen, marked a new generation, but his reign ended as he passed peacefully at age 90 in 396 BHM.
His son Berend took over the throne while his daughter Heleen claimed the title of King’s Blade, to protect her brother for the length of his reign.
