Berg

The province of Berg looms over the icy depths of the Trench of Harhan, its sheer cliffs battered by frigid winds and the unrelenting waves of the northern sea. This is the heart of Orichlan’s struggle, the ancestral land of the Yergralffe, taken by the Ice Dwarves in the brutal Five Northern Wars. Here, the frozen ruins of abandoned Yergralffe strongholds lie buried beneath centuries of snowfall, silent reminders of the blood that once stained this icy soil.   Bërg Verki, the former capital of Harfjörd, now serves as the stronghold of Orich Frigidbeard, its towering walls of ice-encrusted stone a testament to the iron grip of the Great Hold of Orichlan. The dwarves have reinforced the city’s defences, raising massive gates lined with blacksteel and digging deep into the mountains to forge underground halls warmed by magma vents. Within these halls, miners extract Glacier Quartz and Frostgold, rare metals that fuel the kingdom’s wealth.   Further inland, the city of Orburg houses the province’s most hardened warriors, where the dwarves train relentlessly in the unforgiving cold. Sorvik, a coastal settlement perched on the cliffs, serves as a crucial fishing hub, where Glacierback Walruses and Adrarctic Cattle provide meat and pelts for the long winters. But despite its dominance, Bërg remains a land contested. The House of Verki, once rulers of this land, still schemes in exile, their agents working to sow discord among the dwarven clans.   The Trench of Harhan, a vast underwater chasm off the province’s coast, is whispered to have been carved by the legendary Harhan the First with his great sledge. He changed the land itself to settle the sea and allow his people to fish closer to their home.
