Andrúnir
The Andrúnir walks the path between the living and the dead, listening to the whispers carried on the northern winds. Cloaked in white furs over blackened runic steel, they are more than a leader—they are a vessel for the spirits of the snow, an interpreter of omens, and the final voice in matters of exile and atonement. While the Margraves command the Marches and the Jaagr rules the North, it is the Andrúnir who ensures that the will of the ancestors is never drowned out by politics or ambition. Their presence is felt before it is seen, a quiet pressure in the air, as if the spirits themselves have gathered to watch.
The Andeslag answer to them alone, carrying their judgments across the frozen expanse, ensuring that no soul stands above the law of the land and the spirits that dwell within it. To be named Andrúnir is not an honour sought but a calling that cannot be refused. They are chosen in the old way—through trial, through vision, through the undeniable pull of the past upon their soul. When they speak, the snow listens, and when they pass, the frost lingers a little longer in their wake.
