Andeslag

second in charge of the Valhedge Marches, a member of the Dianon Mor who provides spiritual guidance to the Margraves.   The Andeslag walk as arbiters of the north, their presence a reminder that no crime, no dishonour, escapes the eyes of the ancestors. Clad in blackened runic steel and draped in white, they move between the Valhedge Marches, delivering the will of the spirits with an authority that advises the Margraves. Their word is not law, but it is wisdom, a voice that echoes through generations, carrying the weight of those who walked before. When they arrive in a village, it is not always with punishment in hand, but with questions—seeking truth, untangling disputes, and ensuring that justice is not merely met, but understood. They report back frequently to the Andrúnir who liveamongst the snow and ice in the Lands of Ayre.   Exile is their harshest decree, for to be severed from one’s land and lineage is a punishment heavier than death although a northern banishment is a certain demise. To be cast beyond the marches is to be stripped of the ancestors' gaze, and few survive long without their guidance. Yet the Andeslag do not seek to break men—they seek to correct them. A penance fulfilled, a path reclaimed, these things are not beyond reach. They are feared, yes, but more often they are respected, their presence a solemn reminder that the spirits do not forget, nor do they forgive lightly.
