Ancient Kitadori's Cutters

An old Kitadori tool made of radioactive material found in one of many museums across Roka. One of the few remaining artifacts of an ancient civilization believed to have died from exposure to the materials used for building and crafting.

The Kitadori-Mo Nekema, or "Ancient Kitadori's Cutters" when loosely translated, is a well-known artifact found in the ruins of an ancient culture deep in the mountain forests of Kitado. Discovered only a few years ago in a location now known as Kitamorino, this particular tool is especially well known among Drakari historians as one of the only surviving items from an ancient mountain civilization that left little to no trace after its disappearance.

Despite being one of the only artifacts of this civilization, this neke has provided a lot of insight into the ancient culture and what may have happened to them. While simple, the cutters are surprisingly well crafted with a still-functioning hinge and a pair of blades that, while dull from time, are still quite sturdy and stiff. The tool is made from tilamoni - a radioactive material commonly found in the Kitado region, leading many scholars to believe the culture's fall to be from the discovery and widespread usage of this hazardous material. Some scholars have even proposed links between this discovery and old stories of strangely localized plagues in the feudal times before the Drakari-Ta.

While no other tools of this specific material have been found as of yet, the discovery and study of the Kitadori-Mo Nekema have led to a new archaeological interest in Kitamorino. Several other artifacts have also been found in the area, made with what seems to be a far more commonly used and less hazardous material of the time. A handful of archaeologists believe the material may have been used only in crafting tools and weapons for higher classes, in contrast to the more commonly accepted theory of widespread usage.

The neke is currently on display in a museum in the Kitado region, alongside a few other ancient artifacts of other old cultures.

Etymology

Kitadori-Mo Nekema in Si Kari translates loosely to 'Ancient Kitadori's Cutters' in common. The name can be divided into 4 components: Kitadori, the suffix -Mo, neke, and the suffix ma.

The suffix '-Mo' appended to 'Kitadori' in this context describes the ancient peoples of the Kitado region, while the suffix 'ma' appended to 'neke' describes the tool as belonging to these ancient people.
