Lyriah, the Spellweaver

Golden Hand of Arcane Might

Lyriah is known as the Goddess of Astral Grandeur and holds the third seat of the Celestine Pantheon.
She is considered the goddess of spellcraft, ambition, and crystals.   Drawn to the chaotic forces borne of mana, it's said that Lyriah swore to master every known magical ability known across the realms. This passion lead to her becoming the most powerful spellweaver of the Aether, crushing all who dared stand before her. Despite her reluctance to take orders, she remains true to her charge as she twists the raw powers of mana, discovering new spells and abilities for her to master that mortals may one day replicate.

Appearance

Lyriah is often considered one of the less noteworthy deities when it comes to her appearance. But that's not to say that she doesn't radiate power. All depictions of her true form are said to merely resemble that of a high elven sorceress, leading many to believe her the progenitor of elvenkind. She's always clad in elegant robes with draconic scales donning her clothes, radiating a powerful aura of arcane dominance.   The devotion of her followers has lead to the creation of new depictions that, in their eyes, describe her greatness more accurately than a mortal form. Many have made her out to be a being of enchanted crystal, akin to the origins of elvenkind. Others believe her a draconic being, only taking on a mortal form to best wield the intricacies of spellcasting. Regardless of her form, she always maintains an air of majesty and power, the simple nature of her appearance striking deep in the hearts of many.

Personality

Lyriah is best known for being a defiant soul, showing little regard towards rank or the chain of command. Hers is a spirit of freedom and passion, seeking only to do as she pleases and achieve her own ends by any means necessary. Despite serving her charge quite dutifully, she only does so as it serves to benefit her own goal of supremacy in the art of mastering the arcane.   Her defiance is said to have sparked many conflicts throughout the eons, both in terms of standing firm against her masters as well as her incessant rivalries with other deities. Lyriah's a very competitive soul, especially in what matters most to her: magic. She'll always try to outmatch her opponent and display her superiority, caring little for the bonds of friendship that might be severed due to her arrogance.   But this drive and passion to become the very best also makes her incredibly diligent, always working hard to discover new spells and abilities for her to master. Such devotion is also something she greatly values in others, respecting those who dedicate their lives to their passions. Despite her lack of interest in dealing with others, her respect for passion makes her quite open to a wide variety of individuals, deities and mortals alike, especially if their passion involves magic.

Abilities

The most prominent skill in Lyriah's arsenal is her vast capacity to use magic. It's widely believed that she wields all known spells ever recorded by mortalkind, many of which she wields innately through her powerful mind. Little is said to break her focus, able to channel shattering forces of destruction despite the land around her tearing itself apart. She's also particularly well known for the gifts of banishment, forcing those who interfere with her work to find themselves lost on entirely different planes.   While her destructive capacity is what most know her for, her mastery of the arcane grants her access to any tool she desires. From healing her wounds, shifting her appearance, or commanding the undead, there's little Lyriah can't accomplish through her arcane might. Not known to wield her mace often, she does on occasion infuse it with great power to crush anyone who dares approach her.

Worship

Lyriah is widely regarded as a goddess universally beloved by sorcerers. Many strive to follow her guidance in pursuit of power, whether for good or evil. While other practitioners of the arcane are know to give her praise, her followers are commonly those who possess innate mastery of the elements. You're guaranteed to find these people in societies known for their arcane prowess, while others are found around ancient sites of power or choose to live far from civilization to allow them the freedom to experiment without distractions.   Her followers rarely enjoy being tied down by rules or obligation, focusing their efforts on mastering their arcane crafts through any means necessary. They're often incredibly ambitions, seeking to rise up through the ranks of society to become the most well renowned mages of their time. Those who choose to leave their studies behind seek out new sources of power, especially keen on traveling to new realms on other planes, hoping to grow stronger through adversity against the unique forces that await them.
